That is probably why the Red Sox went ahead and made the big offer... Couldn't afford to lose another one to the Yanks.

Great offseason IMO for the Red Sox so far,with additions of Gonzalez and Crawford. The Red Sox with this and Lee not signing with the Yankees.Boston could have the best offseason of all teams.

It does seem like this division always has 2 teams in the playoffs... And a lot of times the 3rd place team has a better record than most of the division leaders.
