Good game Paintsville!

Lady Tigers improve to 4-0 on this young season. They placed 4 players in double figures tonight, led by Megan Jones with 20 pts. Carroll was close behind followed by Vanhoose and Hansford.
Way to go Lady Tigers! Now get ready for another BIG District foe this Friday when Magoffin Co. comes to town!

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

Wow! Kind of expected Paintsville to win, but just not at this large of margin. Congrats Paintsville!

Well LC is not doing very good this year 0-3.
Figured this new coach might be a good thing for LC I just don't think shes ready to be a head coach yet. As the looks of it LC could use Coach Holbrook back. They have some really good talent. Just seems like poor coaching skills to me.

It's too early on in the season to be slamming the coach. I'd say with time they will improve and she will build a nice program at LC.

I agree! LC hung tough the first half. Paintsville just had them out matched every where. Just give her time and she will do fine. #12 can flat shoot the rock! She had 16 of their first 18 pts. I actually thought that LC looked better than what many people had said they would look like.

On offense they looked clueless on what to run. LC ran Man to Man the whole game?? I don't think they have learned anything else. Also, even on the out of bounds they were still in Man! Thats crazy to run man to man every game with girls.

Congrats to Paintsville

Well, if these girls have to be taught to run zone defense at the High School level, then I would have to put the blame elsewhere besides the new coach. Zone defense should have been learned before now, if not, then we're back to the main issue at hand with LC Basketball, both boys and girls... Due to a lack of youth program over the last several years, our kids have to be taught the fundamentals by a new coach when they reach high school... this is sad....

New Coach is not to be blamed.....Sad but true our kids should have learned the game long before they take the floor at the high school level...long season in Lawrence County for both girls and boys

I believe LC just has one senior and the rest are very young. Here in Lawrence the last several years the grade school programs were done away with. The current BB situation at the high school both boys and girls should show why you need good grade school programs. Most of the girls are learning fundamentals that normally would be taught in grade school.

Where was Paintsville predicted to finish in the Dristrict?

Not sure really Stardust, but I would guess they will finish pretty strong.
Just noticed the scores for LC's first 3 games and the margins are oddly similar:
Nov 29, 10 Fleming County home 57 - 74 (L)
Dec 3, 10 Boyd County away 54 - 75 (L)
Dec 6, 10 Paintsville away 52 - 71 (L)

These girls know zone defense I'm sure, because they ran it with Holbrook. I'm saying the new coach must not go over zone defenses because the last 3 games also in jv i noticed it was all man to man. Also, I'm not saying Holbrook is wanting to come back, I'm saying they could use him back as the looks of right now.
Until I see something impressive from her my thoughts remain the same, as of right now I'm not very impressed.
