Knox Central @ Bell Co 11/19
pureathlete Wrote:Both teams have great defenses. Both teams have explosives threats on offense. Both teams have emotional, motivational and hardworking and well prepared coaching staffs. No doubt in my mind that Wayne his boys can call out almost every play Bell will line up to run. And I have heard all year long how prepared Dudley and co. prepare for games because every defensive coach on Bell's staff calls out the opposing teams plays before they are ran. At this point in the season, it is all put into the hands of how well the players listen to their coaches during the week, and how well they prepare themselves for the game on Friday night. As fans we not only pressure these High School athletes to prepare themselves for these games on friday but we expect them to entertain us with outstanding talent. Let's show these young men how much we appreciate the show they give us all on Friday nights, and bring a crowd that they will never forget. Bring your cousin, brothers, neighbors or anybody who you wouldn't expect to come to the game. Let's pack Dudley Hilton Field out and repay these young men with the excitement of a crowd for what they will give us on the field.

I would love to set a record for the most people ever to attend a game on Log Mountain come this Friday night!! No reason we can't. Both schools are ONLY 15 miles apart and both have great following of fans!!! Bring everyone to this game!!

If your team has been beat out, come to Log Mountain and watch this game!!

Great post. Well said.

10-1 teams usually are better than "pretty good"... And in this case Rowan was no exception. They put more points on us than Bell. Bell hasn't played them and neither did JC. I met a few of their players; one on a college gameday visit and got the scoop on their program. Their coach has brought weight room and work ethic to that team. Have to disagree with you on them not being too good. RC is a quality team. I'm thankful we found holes in their D or Bell would be facing them.

Agree. And if your elementary school schedules a basketball game PLEASE do me a favor and notify the principal, the superintendent, the basketball coach, the parents, the referees, the idiot who scheduled it for Friday night, and all their families of an IMPORTANT fact that somehow has gotten overlooked:

IT IS FOOTBALL SEASON!!! Use any of the other 6 nights of the week except Sunday to play in your warm cozy gym but reserve Friday nights for Playoffs! I like BBall like the rest of UK country but not during football season on Friday nights. Grab a blanket, some gloves, a Panther hat and head for the crisp cool air of Log Mountain. The stuffy, sweaty, gym will be there the rest of winter.

Just remember where you heard it first that Bell Co will score more than 21 this time around. Bell is going to open the field up just like Rowan Co did to score those 36 points.

The problem for Knox will be Bell Co's D is 10X better than Rowan's.

I'm sorry I was thinking about the year before that when we had you beat with about 3 minutes to go in the game. Shewwwwww Weeeeeeee!! That was a close one! We almost Rung The Bell!! Dudley had tricks up his sleeve. That is the play I watch for to this day. If it is on the line this year I would expect the same play. Nothing like saying, did you remember that one? I hope the game is unlike most BGR fans are picking it to be. If it is a close one it will only make the rivalry that much better. I have pulled for Bell each time when they have went to state. If they can make it past KC I will do it again. I know it is always in the back of Bell fans heads. What if? That is the reason we will have such a big crowed there. Both teams and fans thinking. What if? I hope everyone has a great time and all of our young men come out injury free. Good luck to all.

I was at that game! It was fun to watch. I can't remember the play you are talking about, but it was a barn burner.
Good luck to both teams. I'll be down that way wathcing the state-semi next week! :rockon:TongueirateSho:flame::Cheerlead

Usually you are right 10-1 means a pretty good team but in this case I am afraid it is not true. Rowan of 2010 is a lot like Law. of 09. They got fat on a very, very weak schedule.

Mason and Estill were the only decent teams they played all year and Mason beat them! So I strongly disagree they are not very good at all. :dontthink

But Knox is a good football team and Bell will have to play good football to take care of business.

The beauty of self-scouting yourself is that Wayne and Co. may think they know what is coming but then again they might not?????
Well, it's nice to compliment each other's defense and pat each other on the back and talk good about each other. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Fact is, Bell County CAN NOT be beat. KC may as well not even show up. Bell's defense is going to eat them alive!!

Big Blue all the way!!!!!

Bell County would kill them. That district that they are in is not very good. They can't play defense at all. Sorry but 10-1 against weak competition isn't very good.

Come on now. If you are going to talk trash get your facts strait. you beat KC 34-6 not 42-6. (Although it could have probably been that bad). I got to looking at the last three times KC played at Bell. 2005: 26-20; 2007: 27-6; 2008 19-14. So one could say that they where good games. But either way you look at it Bell won all three. I really feel that this will be a hard falt close game. The coaches feel that they can win along with the players. So I will say what I said in in 2008. I BELIEVE!!!!!! KC 24 Bell 21
The results of the poll are BC - 51 JC 13. I think that will be pretty close to the score, no?
IF there is going to be an upset in the mountains this is where it could happen. Bell is the favorite......I'm going with KC in a big upset 22-21.

I think that in 2006 in the playoffs it was 35 to 14 you left out that one.
Trust me, KC will be begging for a running clock by the end of the first quarter.

I am afraid you are Correct. I would say the LC or Rowan's Varsity would struggle to beat Bell's JV??? Competition makes you better and the teams in our district have obviously played NOBODY!OUR COACHES THOUGHT THEY KNEW WHAT BELL WAS RUNNING ALSO AND THEY OBVIOUSLY HAD BEEN RUNNING SOME STUFF TO SET TEAMS UP IN THE PLAYOFF'S?????????

You make a good point about SOS. But I promise you Rowan's QB and RB combo is exceptional. No way to prove it other than years of playing and watching this game. This RC team loses 5 starters and will play us next year for Regional Championship (early prediction).

Self scouting is risky business. I don't know what our Panther coaches have planned for Friday night. I just hope its plenty more of whatever we did to Bell's defense on that 1st drive at the Battle of Barbourville. I can't wait.

I promise you this. While your rear end shrinks due to all the laughing, we will never beg for anything. Our team has prepared for this game since the hot days of August. And if Bell does end up with a lopsided win (via the Davenport Scamper Show) the only thing we will be begging for is a chance to lay one more big lick on a Bobcat before the game ends. If you beat us we will send you to Boyle well prepared to issue that whipping.

But Trust Me there "he who has small toosh" - this crew don't beg. Now, I hope your response makes me LMBO cause I sure could stand to lose some of this belly... :-)

That was more of what the Bell D did not do than what the KC offense did. Have to contain Barger just like any other QB.

Self scout=scouting themselves, Bell is notorious for doing that this time of year. Throws off the defense's keys and tendencies.

Get Bell on the schedule for 2011-2012. Rowan is looking for a game week 4 I think. You guys at Bell think nobody plays anybody unless they play Bell. So get on the schedule..Rowan returns 45 of 50 next year and the D1 QB will be back. We would gladly :redboxer:get a piece of the ...

Sorry we are filled up. We already play a competitive schedule. You all are the ones that need to step it up if you ever want a shot at defeating teams like KNOX in the new 4A. Confusedhh:

:dontthink:dontthink:dontthinkOur players would rather meet their death as to cry mercy to anyone! Name one team that has cried mercy to bell. I think you will be standing in a room alone. Thanks for clarification. Sometimes it has to be written in crayon for me...

The half back pass last time was a real curve ball. The shuttle pass in 08 to win that game in final minute or two was an unbelievable call that changed history. Great examples of changing tendencies to take advanatage of another team's preparation.

Maybe we will have a #2 pitch up our sleeve as well.

Glad you beat me to it Football1
Everybody giving Knox more than 7 pts in this game will be shocked! If they could only score 7 at home what makes you think they will score more on Log Mountain? Bell Co's D is ALOT better now than on Oct 1st.

Im telling you get ready to see some plays Rowan ran against you guys from Bell Co this time around.

Trust me that is not a tree you want to bark up. You might not like what falls out. I thought for 2 years we had a chance to beat Bell but boy was I wrong!!!!!
