Knox Central @ Bell Co 11/19
Bobcat_Dad Wrote:Now now fb1 we both know neither will blitz or play man. haha

Wayne is well respected in Bell Co. and will be our #2 team starting next year. I sincerely hope KC is the 2011 district, region and state Champs!!
Good point...

We look forward to the support and will enjoy seeing Bell plow 3A next year. Bell and Knox could go for 3A and 4A banners at all levels in 2011. Still hard to imagine Bell at 3A.

It will be interesting to see which coach swirves the farthest from the "traditional" path and if those swirves work. Bell killed us with long pass big plays (that one catch by 24 was still the play of the year in my book) at Home and sprinkled in a little chicanery here and there. More of the same to come no doubt. Keep those ends and corners at home!
William Muney Wrote:1 disagreement is not bad for an entire season. I always like the thoughts of 2 people guarding 1. We have no other threat outside with Jeffery not in the WR postion. They can concentrate on the running game just like they did against Johnson Central and Jude!
You make a good point. I just think in HS ball its easier to keep a reciever from getting it. We have a great QB but threading that small window around a corner and a safety doubling a WR is a challenge for seasoned D1 QBs.

Canady in the backfield with Turpin and Bailey hovering around in various formations with T Canady out wide presents a wide variety of options for the offense and still forces the defense to respect pass as T Canady catches anything in his zip code. Bell stopped Jude but Jude didn't have a Creek cutting a path for him!
PANTHER_FAN Wrote:u guys are underestamating knox central they have the best defense in the division....

Based on what? The nearly 500 yards of offense and 36 points they gave up to Rowan County? I'll be very surprised if Bell doesn't win this one by 21+.
Just as it always is...upfront will be the decider. Yes Knox will have to have a good solid game, few-NO turnovers, no penalities and good upfront play. Yes both LB's at bell have that many tackles, but the defense is set up for them to make the tackles. If Bell has and i'm almost positive they do, a few lineman up there in tackles then its hard to stop that defense. Bell's D is tough and with all the weapons the offense has Knox can't win unless they play smart and mistake free. I'm taking Bell though because of the atmosphere and home field advantage. If Knox can't do it at Knox, they can't do it at Bell...Bell 21 Knox 10
Bell played alot of single back in the last game. The last TD Cory D made he had a lead blocker in. I expect no single back as much in this game with Mills and Hilton leading the way For Davenport.
Bell has not just a solid backfield, but more than one receiver to go too. I think this makes a difference. You have to worry about both Davenports, Hilton, Mills, Henderson, and Cory.

You are so right!

Backfield we have solid backs in Mills, Hilton, Cory Davenport, Collett, and Polly.

Receivers we have Cody Davenport, Thacker, Henderson, TE Oslonian, and sometimes JD Hilton at TE as well.

you mean #2's diving catch on the half back pass?
bellcobobcats11 Wrote:you mean #2's diving catch on the half back pass?
Yes it was #2.
William Muney Wrote:Yes it was #2.

Thought that's what he was talking about. IMO that was the play of the year as well. Heck of a Catch
bellcobobcats11 Wrote:you mean #2's diving catch on the half back pass?
Sorry - thanks for the correction. YES! That was one of the finest catches I have seen ever at any level. Amazing. If Bell has a few more of those up the sleeve... painful.

Champions get a 1st down on 3rd and 3. And they make those sort of catches. We got it in us; just gotta get it out of us.

Based on leaving Rowan's home field with a win? We beat the best team RC has ever had. They scored alot on us. That says more about them than us. People knew we are good and now they know how good RC was.

Whats good about the Rowan Co game is it helped Bell Co to see what kind of plays they can run this Friday. We had 3 guys up there watching that game.

Expect Bell to open the field up ALOT more this game also.

Expect no single back plays like game #1 too.

I think im going to change my prediction to 28-0 after talking to a couple coaches today.

I'm changing mine too. I talked to my wife and her old trick knee is acting up. I noticed the cattle are all pointing West and the leaves that fell yesterday landed in the shape of a Bell. Can't be good for Knox with all those signs...

What, pray tell, did those coaches have to say?

Hate to tell you but Rowan isn't very good.

You guys always seem to forget that we have one of the best O-lines in the state, and that is why Bell is so solid with skill players.
Someone said Dudley Jr has verbally committed to Western . . . I thought he had said Eastern had offered and he would be going there. Anybody know?

Can't say, but they are happy that Canady is in the backfield...
BellCoBobcats09 gotta point! Changing my prediction to
Bell 48
KC 0

No way this Bell team can be beat. And with the middle school coming on, we've got lots and lots of winning seasons ahead of us.

It's GOOD to be a bob cat!
Lot of fans love seeing how good our offense is cause they make exciting plays! But man watching them play defense is even better and those linebackers are sight to watch!!

Something odd! We have always played better at Bell. If my mind serves me well we should play bell closer at bell. I guess it is all that tradition on the field that rubs off on us. I hope we get an over dose rub friday before the game. LOL We will be fine.
Might be something more than "tradition" that rubs you on Friday night...playing on the mountain and all...

Yep last year they came on Log moutain and got rubbed on 42-6, hope they play that good this year....:devilflam
Both teams have great defenses. Both teams have explosives threats on offense. Both teams have emotional, motivational and hardworking and well prepared coaching staffs. No doubt in my mind that Wayne his boys can call out almost every play Bell will line up to run. And I have heard all year long how prepared Dudley and co. prepare for games because every defensive coach on Bell's staff calls out the opposing teams plays before they are ran. At this point in the season, it is all put into the hands of how well the players listen to their coaches during the week, and how well they prepare themselves for the game on Friday night. As fans we not only pressure these High School athletes to prepare themselves for these games on friday but we expect them to entertain us with outstanding talent. Let's show these young men how much we appreciate the show they give us all on Friday nights, and bring a crowd that they will never forget. Bring your cousin, brothers, neighbors or anybody who you wouldn't expect to come to the game. Let's pack Dudley Hilton Field out and repay these young men with the excitement of a crowd for what they will give us on the field.
