I'll still ponder this one for a while, but right now, this looks like the game I'll attend this Friday. I'm pickin' the home team in a mild upset:
Hounds - 27
Cats - 20
Hounds - 27
Cats - 20

Corbin will be too physical for the Blackcats at home. Corbin 28 Prestonsburg 21.

This is going to be the greatest game in the playoffs, no cut and dry upset, two equal teams that play two different styles of football. I say blackcats by 8 but calling the score 44-36 its going to be a high scoring game

I'm taking Corbin at home by less than 7

This will be a dandy of a game. What kind of team does Pburg have? Are they a power team, speed team, or more of a finesse team like most successful teams in EKY are?
Corbin has a lot of team speed on D. That's something that really stands out to me. They won't wow you stepping off the bus because they are not that big. However, they are extremely strong. The Hounds don't have the big power back they have had in years past but they have been very effective running the ball. Cobb also is a very good passer and has brought the passing game up to par. I would say you could call Corbin a big play team.

I don't think we're as good as last seasons team, but I'm sure Corbin isn't either. However, we still run all of our plays out of shotgun and jet formations. Majority of our run plays are on the sweep out of the jet or draws up the middle out of the jet or shotgun. Our best receiver from last years team is back this season and he's only a junior and that's Joseph Jamerson. He's a big target and has great hands. He's also our best DB, as he plays free safety. Our quarterback, Adam Crisp has a strong arm, but isn't as consistent as Burchett (our QB last season, now @ UK). He's played two bad games this season and that was against Matewan (won in ovetime) & Pike Central (loss). We use our passing game to get the run game going, and if both are clicking look out!
Defensively we've had problems tackling against teams that spread us out. Corbin is a smashmouth football team, so I'd say we will load up the box and man up with Corbin's split-ends and make them beat us through the air, rather than on the ground. The defense is led by senior LB, Alex Griffith, who should be around 100% now, as he suffered an injury midway through the season. Defensive line is very good, but if you can get by our first wave of defenders then you should only have our safety's to beat. Our DBs have made a lot of great plays this season. We've picked the ball off quite a few times this season, but we haven't forced as many fumbles as we usually have in the past.
Our special teams play is as good as it's ever been. Caleb Petry has a strong leg and he can make field goals & put kickoffs through the endzone. Jamerson is a heck of a punter also for Pburg. I'd say he averages right around 40 ypp.
All-in-all, I think this will be a great game and have a final much like the past two have been between these two schools, like a 20-6 or 21-7 final. Game could go either way.

Ive seen corbin play this year and it sorta amased me that if i can remember correctly they threw the ball more than they did running it. But i would say to there stardards as of last year they were 70/30 run. Id say this year its 55/45 Pass or Vice Versa. This will be a good game but its aways hard to win at corbin.

I have seen both in action from the booth. P'burg wins this in a close one. I feel P'burg looks like a much better team but the game is in Corbin. (Call me crazy but I really do think P'burg is a much better team and I have seen them both in action against the same team). I still think that P'burg wins this week and next to get to Bowling Green. Going to be a cold and snowy Thanksgiving weekend and that combined with the roadtrip down the parkway and the Blackcats will be going west in December. Good luck.
