Clay County @ Pulaski County 11/12
#1
Both teams had big wins in the first round.
Clay can put up a lot of points, problem is, they give up a ton of points, and nobody in this region scores better than Pulaski.

If Clay can keep putting up points and get a stop here or there they might have a shot, but right now I think Pulaski is just to much for Clay

Pulaski 42
Clay 30

I'm going with the Tigers in an upset. The Tigers have some kids stepping up and playing their best ball of the season. I think the Tigers beat some quality teams this season two of which came on the road in Scott County and Whitley County, then they came back to beat Perry Central at home. If the Tigers stay focused they can pull off the upset. Especially if the kids remember back two years ago when our seniors were sophmores when they were playing Pulaski County in the playoffs and Pulaski was ahead by several points in the fourth quarter and pulled a fake punt. Another bit of trivia from that game was when the Pulaski Chain Gang hit one of our coaches, inadvertently I'm sure with the chain marker and some words were exchanged and the Clay Sideline got a 15 yard penalty and a Deputy situated to guard the chain gang.

Depends on which Tiger team shows up. Could be close or could be a blow out. Depends on the effort Clay plays with. They are a hard team to figure out.

PC at home is hard to pick against.

PC 42
Clay 28

Even game, it'll be a battle for both teams, whoever creates turnovers and has least mistake wins this one.

I'll say Pulaski at home.

Pulaski wins battle of two very explosive Offenses due to actually having a defense. Pulaski D has been under rated or not even thought about all year, but when they play together they can be one of the better D's in this part of the state. Just need consistant effort from everyone on that side of the ball.

Pulaski is simply a better all around football team than Clay. If Clay would put Hooker in the slot some and throw to him more than 2 or 3 times a game, they would be a lot better. Hooker is the best athlete on the team. I think Reed gets way to many touches. Clay could pull it off but I just think Pulaski is to solid for them.

Reid can not get to many touches, he's as explosive a back as there is in the mountains. I think Reid is just now getting back to full speed both he and Miller played most of the season on Gimpy ankles. I look for huge games out both these guys. After JV got hurt last season he's not been the same footballer, he lost a step or two but he's still so dangerous just because of his size and speed. Hooker definitely needs more balls thrown his way.

I think that Pulaski wins because the other Clay teams shows up.

Wouldn't surprise me to see PC in a dominating win OR Clay County pull out a nailbiter.

Clay County will be one of the biggest teams that PC has seen all year and has great speed at certain positions. Reid is as fast as they come at tailback for the Tigers and a great runner. CC has two fantastic options to throw to in Hooker and one of the most under rated WR's in Dezarn. CC is also as strong as they come on the LOS.

PC is not big at any positions really, however, they are FAST at all their positions on both sides of the ball and they play great as a team, senior leadership shows on this PC team.

I'd like to see District 7 get another win but will take a great game by the Tigers to upset the defending regional champs.

All those Massey Rating predictions could change. They are updated every Monday to reflect the previous weekend's games.

Clay County can match the Maroons weapon for weapon on offense. However, the Tiger defense is a notch or two behind Pulaski's. The Maroons are at home, have the better quarterback and the better defense. I'll take Pulaski to move on to the regional finals 34-20.
#21
I see Clay beating PC, If they run the ball, Pulaski's defense is letting up they can't stop the run against good offensive lines.
#22
PC by 17 they are the FASTEST team in the region, but could be close if PC doent stay focused

With Logan Joseph hopefully being back for this game on defense it looks to be another interesting Friday Night at Pulaski County High School! Clay County is a Run Heavy team that poses a threat to Pulaski County with this offensive scheme but on the other hand the Maroon defense will be one of the fastest that Clay County has faced all season. Should be interesting to see how well Pulaski is able to adapt to Clay's running game, which the Maroons have definitely proven that they stepped up their run defense as it was smothering against Perry Central only allowing them to score 6 points. Those 6 points just so happen to be the least amount of points that an opponent has scored on Pulaski and it shows how the Maroon defense is playing even better now that the post season is here!

On the other hand the explosive power of the Pulaski County offense should have no problem getting things going in this one. Alex Abner was recovering from surgery last week and was still able to score 4 TDs against the Commodores and this week he will be back to 100%! Should be interesting to see how the Tiger defense goes about attempting to contain Zach Eastham's cannon of an arm as well as his elusiveness when he is forced out of the pocket! I don't think that Clay County has gone up against QB of his caliber this season. Not only do they have to worry about him but you also have Alex Abner on the ground and in the air as well as Eastham's other favorite target in Steven McQueen!

In the end, I think Pulaski will just have too many weapons offensively and their defense is peaking at the right time!

Pulaski Co - 35

Clay County - 14
