Less than a week into the 2010-11 season, honors are already rolling in for the 4-0 Lakers. Monday afternoon, forward Pau Gasol was named Western Conference Player of the Week.
Challenged during the preseason by head coach Phil Jackson to assert himself more forcefully at the start of the season while Kobe Bryant continues his recovery from offseason knee surgery, Gasol responded with a trio of strong games. In victories over Houston, Phoenix, and Golden State, he averaged 25.3 points on 52.5 percent shooting, along with 10.3 rebounds and five assists per game

Sounds like Pau can definitely handle the roll of being the primary target of the offense.
Kobe has shown he can handle that role as well.
It's tough on other teams having to guard 2 number 1s.
The only other team in the league that can say they have 2 number 1s is Miami.
