New Coach at ER
#1
Eric Ratliff was once again named the coach at East Ridge High School today.
#2
This is what I've heard. I hope he gets more than one year to prove that he's a good coach this time.
#3
I don't know if he is a good coach or not he never proved anything at Valley. Plus no one really wanted to play for him!!!!
#4
He is really good coach and knows alot about the game. About no one wanting to play for him, well some people probably need to toughen up and listen to a coach that's not going to baby them.
#5
Don't know why noone wanted to play for him?!?! The players at Pikeville really liked him!
#6
From what i have heard, he has a very short temper, throws crap at you when you screw up, and is just downright not a good coach at all.
And i dont get why he came back in the first place. he got fired from there the first year he was there.....
#7
He is a good coach, but no, he's not going to spoon feed you Gerbers.

Yeah, i never expected him to...
#9
Have you played for him.
#10
well he does have a short temper, buts its a good thing those boys need some discipline. Plus he will actually get them in the weight room. He never throws things or punches, that was coach haggerman. lol

Coach Hagerman has been my favorite coach in HS though.

Ive been coached by coach ratliff and i didnt think he really knew what he was doing. He didnt do anything at ER the first year and he isnt gonig to do anything now.
#13
He didn't do anything the first year???
Over half the guys that played on that team had never played in a High School Varsity game. They finished 4-6 and could have easily finished 7-3. That's better than anyone would have thought they would do, even those associated with the program.
Im glad you said they weren't going to do anything this year, I mean that should clear everything up with those that were wondering.
#14
hes grrrrrrrrrrrrreat
haha
#15
That was definetely not a smart hire in my opinion. The best thing they could have done was to get a coach that wasnt from the area, not from shelby valley or east ridge. In order to build a successful program you need someone whose been around one and knows how to win, and you want find that at either one of those two schools.
#16
But isn't it true he has been fired at least 4 schools because no one really wanted him! That is true that he did throw thinks at people, I know for a fact he throwed a football right at my chest because I screwed up for something!! lmao
#17
why didn't you just catch it? lol
#18
MAybe ER(Eric Ratliff) 2nd try will be even better than the 1st at ER(East Ridge). Same initials, maybe it is a sign.
#19
haha never caught that.

I have played for that man "ER" when he coached at pikeville....i have high respect for that man and i think its wrong that u guys get on here and dog him like that hiding behind a fake name....the only reason they fired him from ER the first time was because he coached at Pikeville and east ridge didnt like it...........you must realize about his short temper that he was used to coaching at pikeville.....then he moved to SV so to me the temper is understandable.......great coach...better man...leave him alone good luck coach ratliff....im sure you know who this is
#21
Eric R. seems to have us together this year.... we are getting in the weightroom and really working hard. we are definitely getting stronger. i just hope all this work pays off in the long run....
