LC plays well and Tolsia embarrasses themselves. That's about the story of the game.

Agreed, but Tolsia lost their cool early and often and just kept shooting themselves in the foot. Once they lost their cool ( coaching staff included ) they lost control of the game.

True, i believe the coaches provoked it or they would have stopped the way their team was acting, or so you would think..

Congrats lc!!! now get ready for rock!!!

this was a great game,
hunter james and the dawgs came out and busted tolsia right in the face,
tolsia showed no class or sportsmanship at all. ( those of you there know what im talking about)
the late hits, punching and cheapshots etc.

im proud of the way the dawgs didnt get tied up in the junk tolsia was trying to pull and get themselves tossed, LC showed lots of class.

the LC dominated their foes from across the river mentally, and physically.

hunter james and caleb bentley can run on anyone with james moving into superstar status in the eastern part of the state, LC needs to get the passing game on page if the plan to go anywhere in the playoffs.

I would be careful about quoting stuff like that or even bringing that subject up alltogether..:dontthink

You may get a few Bell Co. fans to start singing about memories of yesteryear of when Lawrence Co. came rolling into their town..

Score was closer than I would have expected. I don't know why they even play this game. The only team that would have even competed with Lawrence was maybe mid 90's. The last game they should have played was Gerad Parkers senior year when they only played 2 quarters because tolisa was fighting and trying to get players kicked out for next game. Nothing has changed as the dogs prepare for a playoff push and tolisa is more worried about winning a fist fight. Congrads to the dawgs and get focused for the playoffs. But I wouldn't be suprised if tolisa would get dropped for a longtime.

Nice to see another WV school go down to a KY school.

Prior to the last few years Tolsia was very good from around 2002-2007. That was the same period that LC was playing Wayne, WV and having tons of trouble while Tolsia was sticking right with and beating Wayne a couple of times. Tolsia even played Wayne in the state championship game during that period. If you take a 20 year period then yes for the most part LC dominates but Tolsia has had a few years in there. I've said it before you will very very very rarely see Tolsia and LC good at the same time. One reason for this is where kids decide to go. LC has lost many players to area schools during the time they were down in the early 2000s while it was the other way in the 1990s. Those players were coming to LC from Sheldon Clark, Johnson Central, Tolsia, Boyd County and a few others. However, notice how in the early 2000s LC stopped getting those and instead started losing players of their own. That is a big reason LC went down so fast, you stop getting those kids plus lose your best its hard to be very good. At that same time Tolsia, Johnson Central, Sheldon Clark and even Boyd County really improved. Some obvisously more than others. Tolsia makes it to their first state championship game, Johnson Central goes from a candlelight to a conflagration, Sheldon Clark stays just as good or better even after losing Matney, and Boyd County if I remember actually had a winning season or two. Its not that they did this because great LC players went their but instead because their players wanted to stay their and play for a winner and that lead to others wanting to go their and do the same. LC will continue to improve as long as they continue to keep their kids at home and on the football field. Additionally, you lay the wood to those around you the kids won't want to hear about how they always get beat by you when they can be with you. If you can't beat them JOIN THEM. That has certainly been the case in this area of the state and I figure in others as well. I forgot Paintsville they have also lost players to LC and LC then lost players to them in the early 2000s. Everyone wonders why Paintsville is having trouble well when your a school with a very limited amount of boys anyway and you have Johnson Central across town it makes it hard. If you have a choice to be a starter at Paintsville with no chance of really going anywhere and having the heck knocked out of you week in or out, would you stay there or go to JC? JC has a very good shot at going deep in the playoffs and who knows winning a title. Where would you want your kid to go? Everyone wants to be a part of a winning team, program or organization. Sometimes that want is just to much to keep these kids home when they can go somewhere else and do just that.

This was the dirtiest game I've seen all year. But we got the W!!!

The one thing that stood out to me was for one example: Tolsia had parents and fans jumping the fence and walking right onto the sideline to yell and scream at the refs themselves. They were escorted off by Louisa police. Then I had a parent right beside of me at halftime tell his son " If they are going to cheat you son, then hit one in the back and take him out of the game." Pure class!!!!

That's terrible to say to any kid on any team. As a parent you should lead by example, not put your son up to hurt someone else intentionally. But seriously, can we honestly expect anything less from those folks across the river? I'm glad none of our boys were hurt from their dirty play.

I kinda ignored it due to the fact that I assumed it was just one parent that would say that but as more of the Rebels came onto the field for warmups for halftime I heard this same thing said over and over again from different parents to their sons as well. I even heard " Dont worry we will win the fight after the game. " Stay classy Tolsia!!!

Unbelieveable!! I've experienced this kinda of stuff from them over the years but they have to be a point where this stuff stops. Something has to be done or I don't see us playing them for much longer.

Good post. I believe there are 4 or 5 LC players that used to live over in WV that illustrates your point.

Personally I wouldnt mind dropping Tolsia from the schedule at all. Once they realize the other team is better they start making excuses and wanting to fight. You would have thought someone shot their best coondog ( LOL intended ) when Coach Salmons took his starters to the lockerroom with 6 minutes left in the game. They were yelling how "classless" of an act that was.:moon:

I wouldn't mind dropping them either, all they do is water-down our schedule anyways. I don't blame Salmons a bit for doing that. We have a big playoff game to get prepared and don't need any foul play and get our guys hurt.

The Principal from Tolsia was thrown out with multiple players. That pretty much tells the story. Not to worried about them. I was proud of the LC kids for keeping their heads. A step in the right direction for our program because there were lost of dirty shots away from the play. It's over which is great.
I'm just glad it's playoff time in Louisa and look forward to meeting up with Rock. Lots of tradition and respect from both schools. Both schools are notorious for playing really hard. I expect a good matchup.

Wow! I can't believe their principal got ejected. That speaks volumes on how they run their program.
