Who is the best quarterback in the mountains?
#1
I know this has been posted before but i wads just wondering what everyone thought now....
#2
Best I have seen is Madon from Bell. Barger from Knox is pretty good too. The kid from Pike Central has put up good numbers but I have never seen him in person.

The QB from Johnson Cent is 1 of if not best running QB in the mtns.
#3
John Combs has to be considered in that talk.Put up very good numbers for a team that is 9-0,and could go deep in the playoffs in 1A.
#4
Alan Boggs & the kid from Johnson Central i forgot his name. Anyone know?
#5
JK Hall is the QB from Johnson Central.
#6
Jon Combs from Hazard
#7
Combs from Hazard, and Madon from Bell.
#8
my vote goes to combs of hazard, im pretty sure hes leading the state in passing yards and isnt to bad a running it if he needs to.
#9
Wilson-Clay
Boggs-Pike Central
Martin-Betsy Layne
Combs-Hazard
Huff-Perry Central
Johnson-Letcher Central
Madon-Bell Co

Some of the good QBs, Ive seen play.
#10
Jon Combs. I think he is one of the most under-rated Qb's in the Mountains. As someone said he is leading the state in passing yards.
#11
kids from hazard, perry and p-burg have all put up good numbers
#12
Gotta put Alan Boggs in the mix here. Kid has a cannon for and arm and is really accurate. Video game stats dont hurt either.
#13
Kid from Harlan (Saragas) deserves mentioning; twice the yards and TD's as the Betsy Layne qb and similar stats to Wilson from Clay. Not downgrading anyone else in any fashion, just browsing the stats on the state website and trying to pick out some local names.
#14
IMO with the competition that he has played & his 1st year starting qb you have to mention Adam Crisp from P'burg. Playing the likes of Belfry, Breathitt, Pikeville, Sheldon Clark, & Matewan. 124 completions on 200 attemps for 62% and 23 td's to only 6 int. & he is only a junior. By the way 3 of those int's came in one game against Matewan. I am a P'burg fan but the competition & #'s speak for themselves.

I like getting on here and seeing what people have to say,I love football and watching these kids play.I bragged on several kids from different schools,PRUITT & WELLIS FR BELFRY,#40 &10 FR SC.SC has a very good QB also.
WITH all that said I have to say ALAN BOGGS is one of the best QB in the mountains.I watched him all year and he has a cannon for an arm.He is also a very acurate passer. So I going give ALAN BOGGS CONGRATS for a great season and I know he will be ready to play against P-BURG.:1:

Boggs is a 1st Year Starter also, only a Jr. so we have another year to look forward to getting him back. :Cheerlead

Zach Eastham of Pulaski County IMO is THE best QB in the mountains!

The kid from Pike Central has excellent size and a great arm. College material IMO.

Agreed 100%.

I like Dustin Caldwell from Paintsville. I know he's definitely not the best or anything like that. He does a good job for his first year of playing qb in high school. He should have been paintsvilles starting qb last year. If he were on a better coached team he would put up great numbers. He's a tough kid and one heck of an athlete. PHS will definitely miss his leadership next season. Other qb's that I have liked watching this season are Adam Crisp at prestonsburg and Jk Hall at JC.

Two other names on the stat lists worthy of mentioning are Chase Roark, Middlesboro, and Richard Trent, Breathitt Co. All of these guys are good and have different qualities that stick out depending on their style of offense and quality of team around them.

After looking at all those mentioned, I would say top 3...Eastham, Madon, Combs.

Eastham, without a doubt, has all the tools. He has the size to run over defenders, the speed to run by defenders, the arm to throw the deep ball, and the knowledge of the game to know what to do with the football. I have seen a bunch of football across KY this year and this kid is as good, and even better, than any I have seen.

The names of the players from Sheldon Clark are as follows: #40 Taylor Chapman, #10 KP Skyles, and the quarterback is #17, Austin Stepp.

My buddy Alan Boggs from Pike Central...

Awesome QB & Awesome Person.

Madon from Bell. He has the size and athleticism of a D1 QB.
#27
I dont know about the best, but the QB from Clay County has a ZOOK for an arm.
#28
Many good quarterbacks this year, I would like to see what kind of numbers Madon would put up in a spread offense. He is forced to play Hilton ball, which as we all know is effective and wins championships, but this kid has good size and a great arm.
#29
Eastham - Pulaski County
Wilson - Clay County
Huff - Perry Central
Combs - Hazard
Boggs - Pike Central
Johnson - Letcher Central
Madon - Bell
Hall - Johnson Central
Crisp - Prestonsburg

In no particular order, but if I had to pick the best of that bunch I would go with Eastham.

jk hall or combs. hands down.
