Thanks, that is the best reason I have heard for Henry Co's poor draw.
My question has been answered.

Old Henry Man Wrote:Henry did not play a D3 team all year. Bounart is in the Tourney as well. Just admitted it
Bowling Middle School (listed below as Bowling) is in fact a D3 school by enrollment. That is Owen Co's middle school. So yes Henry did play a D3 school. Bondurant is in because they are an Independent and not in a conference.
Bell has made adjustments to account for the lose of their player. That takes a little time. Saying Bell is Bell is like saying for HS football Trinity is Trinity, Highlands is Highlands, Bowling Green is Bowling Green. There are certain programs throughout the state that year in and year out are going to be good programs. Those programs are well coached among a number of other things. Bell is not the only MS team like that. There are just some MS programs that it has become clear over the last few years (after talent has cycled) that will be good teams every year.
Below is the information on who is D1/D2/D3.
School Enrollment Class
This is a rough estimate, some schools are combined to form one team so take the schools that play together and add them up. If less than 100 they are division 3 if over 200 then they are Division 1. Hopefully this will help some.
These numbers are from the state and are used to determine what class a school will play in.

It depends on what type of QB you are talking about. If its an option QB I have no idea, cause I haven't seen one this year. If its a pocket passer then I have to go with Lexington Catholic's QB, and after he won the Top Gunn competition in VA over 57 invited QBs he would have to be a front runner but since I watch him everyday I'm sure I'm looking at Reese Ryan colored glasses, its hard to watch this kid day in and day out and not be impressed how he controls the game and always seems to make the 3 and long play when we need it. If you are looking for a QB that can run out of multiple sets then you would also have to consider the Jarrell Kid from Adams and we can't forget the speedy passer out of Lone Oak. These are only the few I am familiar with.

This Kid is buy far the best I have seen all year

Bell is a very physical team. Big line ....hard hitting
10-10-2010, 04:43 PM
I will admit to being biased but Skyler is both a pocket QB and an option QB and is great at both. I haven't seen any of the players you mentioned. Hopefully we will make it to state semis and I'll be able to see them play at Lex Catholic.

I've seen both QB's skyler From Williamsburg and the kid from Lex. Catholic. Granted when I saw Lex. Catholics QB it was in a Frankfort at a 7 on 7 tourment. Lex. Catholic QB is very talented but, Skyler can run the option, Pass very well Also. I know when they played each othere the kid from Lex. threw 2 inceptions against Williamsburg and idk about the rest of the tourment. Skyler didn't throw any. In my opinion Skyler was much better When I saw the two then but now I don't know.

We are a D1 team and Big South Fork conference champion.
Can anyone tell me when, where and who we play in the playoffs?
Since I haven't had 5 posts it won't let me look at the brackets.

Hold up. I've just been informed that the D1 brackets could be changing, to be more accommodating. Don't make those travel plans just yet, someone's burning the midnight oil on this thing...

Corbin is on the D2 list. You must of overlooked it but Lex Cath will not be on any lists except for the on the people who need it because it being private , our schools don't list them online.

Now that you have reminded me about the Frankfort 7 on 7 tourney I do remember the Williamsburg QB. I was very impressed with him when he played us. But I don't agree at all with you about him being better that day than the Lex Cath QB. I mean Lexington Catholic beat Williamsburg 31-13 in the first game. It being a passing game only and Reese leading our team for 31 pts compared to Skylar leading them to 13 doesn't paint a Williamsburg QB being more talented to me anyway. But that was just a passing tourney where the QB doesn't do anything but pass so I'm still not saying either kid is bettter in a real football game. We played you also in the 2nd round of bracket play and eliminated Williamsburg 21-12, but I remember thinking how well this kid from Williamsburg had a very nice touch on the ball. Hopefully we both will make it to the semi's and get to watch both of them play.

TOOMEY#4 Wrote:didnt see corbin or lex caths enrollment on your list barrel
the list that came from had Lex Cath as D1 but with no enrollment numbers so I left them off (along with LCA and Owensborrow Catholic. CAL provided numbers I believe) . The KMSFA is still very new so they are working out things as they go in some areas. I have a feeling it will be addressed in the offseason meeting. This has nothing to do with Lex Cath in and of itself but there are some areas with private schools that will need to be clarified so questions can be answered.
Lets face the facts that private and public matters are going to be an issue with the KMSFA as it is with the KHSAA. Some things will need to be clearly defined and verified. Like I said this is not a Lex Cath thing but a private school thing and even more so in the area of multi feeding school private schools. Cov Cath is in a similar place and when/if they ever choose to be part of the playoffs it will be better to have this taken care of before hand. There is also the slim chance that Louisville private schools that are not currently part of the playoffs end up joining.
Now one thing private schools will have to understand is that the publics are going to want to see enrollment numbers. They do it for the HS and so they are going to want it. Publics are going to want to know the exact policy on who can and cannot play for private schools that do not have true middle schools. This is just an example but lets say a a private school can pull from 5 schools but only pulls from 3. So which numbers are used? Another example a private that pulls can pull from 5 pulls all the players but one from 3 schools and has 1 player from another. Do they included all 4? Do private schools with no MS allow kids to play on the team that are not currently enrolled in certain schools? That does not even begin to get into grade eligibility.
Now the above is not targeted at one school. Those are just a few of the questions I know people ask and will want public answers. Making the enrollment numbers public I am sure will be an issue.

I'm not making excuses, but Williamsburg had played 3 consecutive games before the first meeting and were literally eating and jogging over to that game. During the second meeting Williamsburg lost 21-16, but the score was swayed by a very bad call. I remember Lexington Catholics varsity coach saying Williamsburg's receiver made the TD and even at the end Williamsburg was driving and ran out of time. But I do agree it hard to justify that either player is better.

Haha... Well that to me sounds like an excuse, but I am going to give my unbiased opinion since I've saw both of the two teams in action (Williamsburg vs. Middlesboro, and Bell vs. Catholic). In my personal opinion, I believe Griffith is a better player, and here is why, when I watched the Bell game Reese was able to throw in the pocket due to his lines ability to block and stay with their man, when he was outside the pocket I was not too impressed. Whereas in the Middlesboro/Williamsburg game Griffith's blocking was not so good and he was able to tuck it and run, throw on the run, and run the option almost flawlessly for a MS QB. It wasn't until the second Williamsburg/Middlesboro game that my opinion laid so heavy with Griffith. The O-line was leaps and bounds better and Griffith was able to still run, juke, and pass outside the pocket, but looked very comfortable sitting in the pocket and throwing the ball 40 yards down field. Reese does have the size and frame for a great QB, but in my opinion he is not nearly as versatile as Griffith and it is very evident. The funny thing about it was when I watched the Lexington Catholic/Bell game I thought about both of these QB's going head to head... Haha. On a positive note both players are very impressive and I think both will go far in their careers if they stick to it.

lol well there you go....an unbiased opinion. Skylar must be a dandy. But I will say this... Since Bobcatfan#1 did see Williamsburg twice it gave him a chance to see Skylar twice also. But the real test would be if Williamsburg had played Bell Co. I realize that middlesboro beat Bell co. by 6 pts. but Bell County was easily the best pass defending team I have seen in a middle school game. Reese had a good game against them, passing for 185 yards passing and rushed for 43 yds out of our entire 55 rushing yds. We dont run an option so that why i labled him a pocket passer. At 6'2" 170 and still growing his niche will probably be pocket passing if he takes it to the next level. Either way, with any luck we will get to see both of them play and maybe the Jarrell kid also from Adams on the carpet in the semi's.

Could someone please allow new members access to the playoff brackets.Or does someone know where we could locate the brackets?? Thanks!!!

I would not mind having both on my team, I would bet the coach could find a way to use both of them.

Iknow i could find a way to use them both. For sure. It will be interesting to see how far both those teams make it. Maybe our team will see one of them in the finals. Who knows

Is there anywhere else that the brackets can be located?
