I figured it would be atleast a 14 point win but that big of a margin is crazy. I said earlier before the season started or maybe around the pre season that you would see a Pineville and Pikeville game and i believe we just might.
#4
Dont under estimate Pineville this year folks! They are a very good team!!
#5
One of the worst performances I have ever seen from a tiger team. Good Luck Mountain Lions on the rest of your season. Beat Hazard.
#6
Not a Paintsville fan and this embarrasses me bad. Just horrible.
#7
Congrats to Pineville!
#8
congrats to Pineville

Sad to see how bad of shape the program is in. Im an alumni of paintsville and to see the decline the program has had makes me sick. JC and paintsvilles program's have totally flip flopped, and now kids are leaving phs for JC, and I don't blame them. Paintsville is now a lower tier team in Eastern KY. I think it's a shame, and I guess you can only point at the school system for the downfall of their athletics.

Congrats to the Mountain Lions on leaving Paintsville with a W tonight....chin up Paintsville, this was not a district game (the ones that count). Best of luck to teams the rest of the way.
#11
Congrats Pineville
#12
I agree superman. It is a shame how much Paintsville Football has declined over the years. They are not even respectful anymore. I think it is time for a coaching change. Bring back allen.
#13
WOW! I picked Pineville in this one but not by this marin.
#14
congrats pville... best of luck to you in classA

Woot - Great job Lions. I am pleasantly suprised that We are 5-0. Add Bell County 5-0 ... Only Middlesboro of our Area Schools is dropping the ball. Wont happpen this year, but "I have a Dream" All 3 win state titles in the same season ..... "It could Happen"

I'd say after the way JTA was treated, he's getting a big laugh over how bad things are now. Jason has had twice as much talent as he had, and he still barely beats teams that arent near as talented as what he has. I would have liked for JTA to have coached the talent he has had last year and this year. The program is a circus and everyone in town knows it. When you have coaches that didn't even play football, and your most experienced assistant has 3 years of coaching experience at a tradition rich school, their is a MAJOR problem.

I think Bell Co will win state in 4a. they are by far the best team in the mountains

How do you blame a school system for lack of talent. Paintsville is still a very proud system and will continue to set standards in academics and yes atheletics. How soon we forget the tradition and state championships. 1990 in baseball and 1996 in basketball. Johnson Central hasn't sniffed one ever!! Oh yes and we have been on the carpet in football. Three times to be exact. The tide will turn and talent will come and go. Just a down time but don't bash the system or the history of this fine school. Hang tough Coach Kinner!!!

I blame the school system for hiring a coach that had only been an assistant for a season and fired a coach that was with the program for years. Coaches with a lot more experience and a better resume' wanted the job and were turned down for someone that hadn't proven anything. Just cause he played college ball DOESN'T mean he can coach the game. We aren't talking about baseball and basketball, we are talking about football. Blame it on talent all you want, but anyone that KNOWS football can see that talent isn't the issue. They have size, speed, and great athletes for a Class A school. A lot of talent is GOING across the creek because we have a coach that has turned a once proud program into a CIRCUS. Even Bo Belcher sent his kid across the creek after being an assistant at phs for years. Prime example of how bad things are getting. I'd say that kid will be a star at JC as well, and anyone that has seen him play will agree. I bash the system for being political and chosing a coach based on who his family is whether then who was the most qualified man for the job. Anyone that says any different is a liar and thats a proven fact.

Well the talent is there right now. They have one of the best running backs in the region with a decent sized o-line for a class a and still can't do anything. Maybe if they would quit playing playstation for and hour before they practice they can learn more about the game of football.

I understand your frustration. Alot of people frustrated with how the football program is going. I'm optimistic and think things will cycle back for the good. Hiring and firing coaches isn't a quick fix in my opinion. Johnson Central is the worst school in the mountains for that. In fact, a certain political group over there would love to see Matney out of there. I will support the coach in charge. If Kinner is relieved of his duties I will support the next guy. Bashing coaches doesn't help the program at all. All of these Alumni in Paintsville who think bashing Coach kinner is doing the program good better rethink the words they are putting out there. Kids here it and that only hurts the program. Paintsville will be fine it's gonna take some time.

If that was the case then Jim Tom should have been given more time. As loyal as he was to the program, he was left with nothing when Bill Mike stepped down, and didn't have near the talent that Jason has coached. I would have loved to see JTA coach last years paintsville team. The alumni in town are just telling the situation for how it is. What paintsville needs to do, is start from scratch, make a homerun hire and go from there. JC made a homerun hire and look at where they are. PHS needs to do the same because as of right now, they are one of the lower tier teams in the area and thats sad. My frustrations are on whats taking place on and off the field. Dont you think its awful fishy that better coaches are coaching the youth teams, then their are coaching the HS? That people that involved with PHS sports aren't wanting their kids to play for jason and are transfering. For gods sake, paintsville has two coaches on the staff that NEVER PLAYED high school football. Out of all of the alumni in the area that are still here, its obvious their is a problem when no one really wants to help Jason. When jason gets offered quality help, he turns them down or runs them off. His defensive coordinator didn't even start on defense when he was in high school, he was a WIDE RECIEVER. Jason played defense at georgetown, and he's making the offensive play calls, and the Hall kid that didn't even start on D in highschool is the D coordinator? where in the world does that make sense?

I like your dream, but what i like the most so far is the two Bell Co. teams has Johnson Co. teams.:lmao::worthy:

Paintsville's school system has made their bed and they need to lay in it. Jason wasn't ready for that job yet, and they screwed him by handing him the job with only a years experience as a coach. They should have took a few more years to get him ready for it before handing the torch over to Jason if he was their plans for the future. I hope he does better, but he has a ton of changes with his staff that needs to be made. Ratliff and davis need to be baseball coaches, and he needs to replace those two with good solid coaches that have football experience. If local people wont help, go after assistants at other programs that have experience.

Guys.... mello

Pineville, has been exactly where you are, most every program goes threw highs and lows. Paintsville, despite the score IS a playoff team, and may still win their District. They are 2-0in District and in my opinion end up first or second there. Despite how you feel, they are a good team. Your team has been threw 4 ranked teams of varying class ... no shame there. Your wining the important ones.

I can't say how many years Pineville has been there. Facing the teams of Tradition like Paintsville or Pikeville year in year out. We had some good teams too only to get stompped. We held our heads up, and went on to the next game. Believe me when I say we have been on the shorter end of the stick more than you. Your Tradition won't allow for this for too long, but as I said even the best have periods of rebuilding. Remember the changes made to the alignments and teams from class to class has changed the face of Ky HS football forever. Before I can never remember a lossing team makeing the playoffs. Now with just 4 in our district everyone goes reguardless. Jenkins is 0-5, may not win a game, yet will make the playoffs. Yet schools that used to be top of their class or district no longer are.

Yes for us its good, been a while since we were this good - Back when Woolum was Qb. Its nice to see for a change been a lot lean years of just gettin by.

Biggest game of the year is Hazard at Pinville, will likly decide district. And we to win it so we have home field threw playoffs, otherwise a region final at Hazard after loosing at home would be real tough.

LOVED BC's win over Rock. Will have my ears on the KC game next week

Didnt expect this big of a win, grats Pineville

I agree with you wholeheartedly in that the coach should not be bashed. He from what I know is a real personable young man with a real nice family. I don't think for one minute that he wants to loose. The problem is that he does not know how to win. To break that down he may not be ready to be a football coach. When you introduce a young man into a supervisory position before he is ready than you are to blame not the coach. I have very strong feelings about blaming this situation on the players. My position is that players no matter what potential, must be taught to block, tackle, play defense and be put into an offensive scheme that is right for the whole team. Not something that looks like fun or somebody else is using. Last year you had a back that should have been an all stater and a lineman this year that could have been one to. Don't bash the coach but "Geter Done" and bring back Tiger Football.

Is it just me, or did anybody else at the game feel like Paintsville quit after the opening kick-off they ran back got called back for clipping.

I completely agree with PvilleTigerFan on this game, one of the worst performances by any Tiger team to ever step on the field. Not the same team we have seen the last two weeks, granted that Pineville is much better than South Floyd and Allen Central. The last two weeks we blocked good for the most part, and we have tackled well for the most part. But last night it was like a replay of the Lawrence County and Prestonsburg games, back to the same ole stuff, not blocking and arm tackling. Nobody on here can say that Pineville is anywhere close to being up to par with LC or Pburg. Paintsville beat themselves, the boys acted like they didn't even wanna be there after the kick-off got called back.
