Paintsville 62 South Floyd 28
#1
Tigers had a 28-20 lead at half then owned the third quarter. all but one of the tigers second half touchdowns came in the third then the J.V got one in the fourth. Good Game Tigers. And keep your head up Raiders.
#2
Nice job Tigers!! Good Luck the rest of the season.

Yeah when Paintsville was up 21-20 in the second quarter and Newsome intercepted it in the end zone and ran it back for a TD, and they brought it back. It killed the Raiders.. (I didn't know you couldn't advance it out of the endzone). SF the failed to score on the drive, and Paintsville scored to make it 28-20... Then it was halftime, and Paintsville came out and scored on the first play to make 35-20 and SF just rolled over and quit.... I was really disappointed with them just giving up. It should have been a really close game, but Paintville just blew it open in the 3rd qtr. Congrats Paintsville.... Just keep on working hard Raiders and you'll be fine...

BTW- What happend to #45? How is he doing?
#4
Congrats to Paintsville!

He broke his arm hes out for the year id say.

And what i bolded is exactly right. They have a good team and will make some noise in district 8, this game should have been closer but from what I hear Nordin, and Caldwell took it over in the 3rd.

I hate that about the player being out.... He can play with a cast on though can't he....

They did take over....South Floyd just plainly gave up and Paintsville did what they wanted........
#9
This really shocked me!

Exactly I think South Floyd will be able to get the fourth playoff spot this year.

#45 was hit after Paintsville scored a touchdown. In my opinion, it was a bad situation, there was no reason for the boy to hit him after the TD, that just shows no class or regards for another person. The flag was thrown and the boy was ejected from the game. #45 has a compound fracture.

So why did they take the td back for if he ran it back.

You can't advance out of the end zone in high school football if it goes in it is an automatic touch back

CardinalAlum Wrote:You can't advance out of the end zone in high school football if it goes in it is an automatic touch back

So if you pick it off in the end zone u cant take it back. I know u cant advance it on kick off but not on an interception in the endzone if so thats garbage and ive seen it happen before.

I didn't see the hit, but it happened on a SF touchdown which got called back......

You wanna talk about No Class or Regards for another person!
Yeah I was sitting in the stands close to the Paintsville section and heard a few classless jestures coming from a Paintsville (parent) fan saying they need to break one SF's best players leg after that happened to #45. Even during a few plays, he was yelling to break his leg..... That's classless IMO!!!!! I wasn't gonna bring that up either but oh well.... The bad thing is, the one they were wanting to get a broken leg wasn't the one that hit #45 he was 30 yards away from where it happened!!!

It didn't happen on the called back touchdown, it happened after Paintsville scored. This is high school football and these boys are old enough to have regards for another person. I understand it's football and it's a rough sport and I know kids are going to get hurt, but when something like that happens...IMO, that kid doesn't need to be playing period. I don't agree with a parent or an opposing fan saying break someone's leg. I don't want my son or anyone else's son hurt.

You can't compare a parent saying break someones leg, to a kid taking a cheap shot 40 yards away from the play after a touchdown and breaking his arm.
#19
Congrats on the Win!!
#20
Congrats to Paintsville on the win.. I honestly didn't see them winning a game. Good luck rest of the way.
#21
#45 had surgery Saturday morning and is still in the hospital. He had several screws and plates put in his arm.

It may be the case of a Cheap Shot ruining a young mans career!
#22
Well I don't recall the cheap shot.... I know on the called back touchdown for SF is when the flag was thrown and he left in the ambulance..... I hate for the kid, I don't wanna see anyone get hurt.

No, a parent yelling over and over to break an opposing teams players leg isn't the same as a cheap shot ending a boys career, but its a pretty classless act....

U can advance this: This is a blown call-- Whoever was the white hat on this crew messed up bad as did the rest of this crew, SF should be upset with those officials who stopped the runback!!! This wouldnt have happened out West (great white hats)

Mr. T you seem to be going from a very understanding position to one of defense. First of all I am not a surgeon but I think it difficult to play with multiple surgeries, plates and screws. I'm thinking that's a lot to ask from a cast. Secondly I beg to differ on the flag. I do believe it came after or during the P-ville score. The ref. seemed to think this was quite flagarant. Was a P-ville fan flagged or arrested for their comment that ALLEDGEDLY was made? It is very difficult to loose. Believe me P-ville ought to know. It's called frustration. But come on!!!!!!
#25
well first off, I didn't know it was gonna be mulitiple surgeries or what not..... But I have seen several players play in a cast, thats why I asked... No, actually the flag was laying right behind #45 when he was laying on the ground. That was when SF's score was called back because of the clip. Yeah and SF has had there fair share of losing as well!!!
#26
I am an official and i saw the game. The officials that called this game got everything right. The play where #45 got his arm broke was on a south floyd touchdown which was called back. The flag was laying right beside the kid while he was lying on the ground. And for the person that thinks the officials got the interception wrong, you need to look at a rule book. Log on to khsaa.org, there you will find rule books on kentucky football. If any official lets an interception from the endzone be returned for a touchdown needs to retake the officials test because the rule states that once the ball crosses the plane of the goal line and is recovered by the defense weather it is a fumble or interception it is called a touchback. Thank you to the football fans that uderstand most of the rules. And for the ones that dont you need to study up on them. Remember that Kentucky high school football is different than that of college and nfl, the rules are different. So next time before you run your mouth about something you dont know about think about the situation and see if you understand it. They are not there to screw the kids, they are there to make a game fair.

Take a look at the bottom of this stats report from last season.

Thats what i was thinking. Hazard got an interception in the endzone in the beechwood game but he never brought it out. The official blowed the play dead after he went down not when it was intercepted. I have no dealings in the game but just stating what i have saw.

Of the players you have seen play with a cast, how many were simple fractures and how many were compound. My point is that this kid had a compound fracture that required a surgery or surgeries and that certain materials where introduced to the body to aid in an attempted treatment process. How effective it will be ,who knows? You can bet that he will be slow returning to the game, if ever. Now did the official eject a player? If he did this must have been flagarant. When most people think about class I would think that they are refering to players representing their respective schools not some Boso in the crowd. To even try and compare a radically injured player to an alledged mouth in the crowd is wild. Do you know any doctors who would release a boy to play football in a cast following a surgical implant in compound fracture? If you do he is dealing pills and taking half of them himself.

I don't know the entire extent of his injury. What I do know though is that Prater is young, healthy and strong mentally and physically. Will he return this season...uh...NO. Baseball....Maybe. Want be throwing in curves or sliders. But, not like he threw many of those anyway...LOL. I speak from experience. I suffered this same type of injury. Plates and all. I was throwing a footbal and baseball with my son around 4 months later, all be it I was in a wheel chair. But, I was using that arm pretty regularly. But, like I said. I don't know the extent of the whole thing. That is between he and his family and no one else. But, the kid has a strong heart and strong will power. In my heart I feel he will be back next season just as strong as ever. Prater if you, your mom or dad read this. I will see ya in the next day or two and I will give ya some advice and some tips on what to expect with this. Love ya son. Hope ya get well by baseball season. Would love to see ya tossin that tater around the infield!
