Pikeville is nice and will be the new Belfry field. Lexington Catholic is awesome also. The best field that I ever played on that had natural grass was Corbin.

Yeah, the new Belfry field will be sweet !

Will Belfry's new fields have turf?
If so ...What about the baseball field?

For a high school athlete in Ky I think Papa Johns would be a good place to play lol.
Other than that the nicest I've personally seen so far is Pikeville.

Prestonsburg's field back in 01 was sweet, but they can't seem to keep it green now.

Was that the year they checkered the endzone?
02-08-2005, 06:42 PM
No that was in 2000 in the playoffs. I know my senior year 03 they checkerboarded the endzone for senior night.
02-08-2005, 06:44 PM
It looked real good with the checkered endzone IMO
02-08-2005, 07:15 PM
I agree, I wish they would keep it that way, but its too expensive.

Hell they couldn't eve afford fireworks for this past years team. I know like the first 3 home games they didn't even have them. Kinda threw out the whole point in Prestonsburg football imo. That's what got me the most excited in the stands was the fireworks and "thunderstruck" being played over the PA.

Just to let ya know, there is no rule against language use as long as it isn't directed at another poster. There is a word filter that gets the majority of obscene words, but some words aren't on it, and some posters will use some words. So I just want to say sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you.

I might be a little biased but the best natural field in the mountains is by far Leslie Countys. Pikevilles is probably the best to play on though the turf is awesome and nice and soft. Also another great natural field is that of the Clay Co. Tigers, and the Hazard Bulldogs. Also Bell Co. has a nice natural surface.

just from watchin on tape i saw that Beechwood has an incredibly nice field
but my pick would probably be Pikeville or the new field at Belfry!

I agree, while it's not a rule I don't really see the point in using the language. BTW what is the whole poin in Prestonsburg Football? Are you a former player blackcatfan4life? I assume you are, and what year ?

not only does pikeville have the best field to play on, but they have the best football enviroment overall...there is nothing like Panther Football
02-09-2005, 12:24 PM
This place is really biased, so I am going to say my favorite field to play on was at Somerset. I remember walking onto it Freshman year and was amazed at how good it felt. We lost that game, but we came back my Senior year and won down there.

Pikeville for sure
02-09-2005, 01:25 PM
Pikevilles field for sure in the mountains but the best field I have been on high school wise would have to be Dunbar's field for sure

Southwestern has a very nice grass field. It is well designed, level, no ruts, excellent drainage, Bermuda grass, well maintained, and even lighting.

Catch a few Danville/Boyle Co. games, or maybe lucky enough to see a NewCath/Beechwood, or a Trinity/St. X and you'll see a lot better enviorments than Pikeville. I saw a few Pikeville games over the years but they weren't big games, and the crowd seemed kind of quiet to me compared to others I've seen. But I liked the Pburg surface from '01, JCHS from '02, Hazard, Corbin, Middlesboro, and Pikeville all have good surfaces.

I agree, P-burgs field when its in good shape is the best I have seen.

The nicest field around here is going to be belfry's. Pikeville's is very nice also. But, guys if you want to go with the nicest ive ever seen, defineatly in texas, soutlake Carrol's field. They have thier own VIP section's. Big screen tv's and the works. Its just high school too. Crazy money for that. They also have their own indoor practice facility where the dallas cowboys also practice in their offseason....
