Most eyes and ears in the Jackson Purchase region will be focused on War Memorial Stadium Friday as PT tries to snap a four year losing streak. Mayfield (2-0) claims to field one of its better teams in '10 while PT (1-1) brings a quick team with some key athletes but is still tweaking special teams play. Anything can happen. Truth be told, except in this game, fans pull for both schools in other games. The series dates back to about 1911.

This the best team I've seen in a long time. They had speed last year, but I think this team is as fast and has a better field iq. I don't think anyone can play with them until state. Jonathan Jackson is as strong and smart of a sophmore as most seniors in the state. Look for him to be mentioned as Mr. Football in kentucky as a underclassman.

The fate of the game will rest with PT's O-line. If they give Cox time to throw and spring some traps loose, PT will hang. Mayfield has a great kicker who is accurate @ 40 so even if PT holds on D, Mayfield can still pop 3. PT can't do that.

You are right, this Mayfield team has a very high football IQ, and that will get you really far, especially when you have the talent that this years' team has. Mayfield has a great running game this year and as Trigg found out when they stuck everybody in the box, Mayfield will just throw around or over you, no problem. There are just too many offensive weapons this year to figure out what is coming at you from this Mayfield team.

Should be a great one, I am thankful its in Mayfield this year. Mayfield looks to wear the favorite label but darn PT makes me nervous. I thought last year Mayfield whipped PT up front in the first half and not so much so in the second half. PT's qb will be the key if his line does their part. I like the Cards by 7-14 points

After seeing both teams, either live or on film, I'll take Paducah Tilghman 28-17. They have a slew of athletes and seem to be a better all around team than last year's state championship team IMO. If they can get the ball to Forrest and play better run defense they win.
Not taking anything away from Mayfield though, they have an outstanding team and are loaded for a Class A run, just think Tilghman will out athlete them in this one.
Should be a good one.
