I don't know the exact numbers. Collins is a product of Shelby Co. being too crowded. They essentially are splitting Shelby Co. in half. Shelby Co. was 6a last year are now 4a, same as Collins.

Should be a good game to watch i'll catch the highlights on sports overtime.

I do believe SC will win in a close one due to the fact that they are a good established program and it will take MLC a few games to get organized in game situations.

I hope that you're right in your analysis. As I have mentioned before, I believe Sheldon Clark will surprise a few people.

These kids have been playing together for at least three years. They know each other quite well. One thing that may work in Sheldon Clark's favor will be that the field will not open until the 20th for the players also, all the celebration of this being Collins' first game may be a distration for Collins.

The field will not be complete until the day before game they will have been on it one more time than you. New school, new facilities, wanting to get the first all time victory. BTW, I really like your attitude about wanting to play the best. If Collins anything close to what they were last years Shelby Co. IDK what your schedule is for the season, they will be probably the best team on the schedule all season. Good Luck on the game.

This Collins team has played together for 3 years also. What you guys dont understand is that Collins is essentially 2009 Shelby County(9-3 with 3 losses coming to Bryan Station, Male and Trinity) minus their running back(that includes offensive co, o-line coach, lb coach, wr coach). They didnt graduate a whole lot of talent and 95% of the "players" went to Collins over Shelby Co. They will be the furthest thing from a first year program that youve ever seen. If you want to leave Shelby Co with an opening victory then you better bring your A-game and not think youre going there to take on a team that cant play.

i believe that collins will be a good team if we didnt think that then we wouldnt have scheduled to play them:Thumbs:

I was talking about Collins. I may not have been clear.

I am sure that they are a very strong 4A team, and I do not think SC is thinking an easy game, by any means. Coach Hager and the team are aware that they are playing a strong, veteran team, classified as 4A. And as you posted, SC had better bring their A-game to Shelby County.

best thing to do is not worry about other teams being ready just make sure your team shows up every game.. cause last year they were games where sc didnt show up and it showed.. sc players can get on here and talk all the smack they want and theres nothing wrong with a lil trash talk but you have to go out on the field and prove it.. people say oh they won region last year woohoo big deal.. guess what.. good schools get exicted when they win region but great schools say oh well the only thing they get excited for is a state title.. as far as i am concern the only school in this area that can talk all the smack they want is belfry because there the only school that knows how to get to the big game and win it.. so go out and prove something sc.. put my words in my mouth and show up for every game and hit somebody in the mouth and win state.. and start with Collins next firday night.. cause i'll be stright up honest with everybody i dont think sc can do it..

Not worring about the other team but being totally and completely prepared yourself is paramount. Games, again, are won on the field of combat, not on this venue.
I think it was Henry Ford who said, "If you think you can, you can; If you think you can't, you can't." So, SC, be prepared, and think you can!

no i said they are the only team that can say they have been to the big game and won it around this area.. the big game is the state title not sc vs belfry or any other regular season game.. see thats exactly whats wrong with sc they think the big game is belfry and really they havent even been to it yet..

Right now SC needs only to focus on Collins. And when the play-offs commence, focus only on the next game, and then the next, etc. I feel that maybe Belfry has been a psychological stumbling block. But I believe the guys have gotten past this little situation.

What does this have to do with Sheldon Clark vs. Collins?

I feel like this game is an Unknown you cant really watch film on this team because they are a new school. I know they have some good skill players coming in from what I've heard but I'm not for sure about the Line. I do know that Sheldon Clark better not over look this team as for it will be a battle to start the season. If the Cards come out running the ball and passing the good then I think that they will come away victorious, But if they dont bring their A game then it will be a very long bus ride back to Martin County. We can get our first look at our Cards in Full Pads this Saturday at Nitro, So everyone come out and watch them.

I was at Collins Monday and the playing field was done. The practice field was not. I assume that you are saying that the practice field is not done.

I was told last weekend that the field was not done yet. I just assumed he was talking about the game field. They letting the public on the property yet? or you just going after hours?

This isn't a thread about SC and Belfry but now we are remembering
you guys have beat us four or five out of seventy times that is a great
percentage don't you think. :lmao:

Obviously Belfry has an extremely good record over the years and a tradition of successful football teams. Granted!
SC, one game at a time; games are won and lost on the field.
Speaking of one game at a time: COLLINS 8/21!

some football.

Sheldon Clark needs to take it one game at a time and not even worry about belfry until the week of the game, we have to tough of a schedule to do that and we need to come out focused and ready to play this Saturday

You hit the nail on the head! SC has its work cut out for Collins 8/21; that's the only game to have in mind at this point.
