Would you be willing to give up TV for 5 years if it magically saved 1,000 starving children in Africa?
Would you?
This is a hard one for me...and I guess I am awful for thinking that way..I would give it up for sure if I could keep the Internet.

Hahah I lived without T.V. for about 8 years and I finally got it back.. If you mean by giving up tv that means watching absolutely nothing on the boob tube then that would take about a year to figure out the answer. I could give up watching satellite and all that. But I don't think I can give up watching movies.

I could. Last night when I watched the Super Bowl was the first time I have watched TV in 3 months or more.

This IS hypothetical, right? RIGHT!?
I guess I could live with just the internet, if that is an option.

With high-speed internet I could give up T.V. to save on the (rising) cable bill.
For a cause like that of course!

No question, to save just ONE child, I'd give up TV today. When did we get so selfish that our luxuries are more important to us than human lives?
Lets change the question. If you knew that your TV was wired to the detonation switch of a bomb in an elementary school. And by turning on your TV it would cause 1,000 children to die, would you turn it on? Same question, but it feels different, doesn't it?

I think I can speak for all of us ( I hope) that if we were really faced with this situation, that we would without a doubt give it up...

Socratic questions are beyond my functioning level.
Children: we were once who they are and they are our future.
