Jacksonville State of the Ohio Valley Conference has signed a contract to play Kentucky in football during the 2011 season, JSU Athletics Director Oval Jaynes announced on Wednesday.

I hate the fact that D-1 schools can schedule opponents like this and the win counts toward being bowl eligible. Tennessee stooped down to this by playing UT-Martin this season. In my opinion, it shouldn't be considered anything more than a scrimmage. If that became a rule, maybe schools would stop scheduling games like this.

PS, I agree with you 110%..

I agree with ya as well.
But scheduling teams like this can help ya or hurt ya. A pro would be, more time practicing and resting some players. A fault would be risking a injury

Well kentucky has to deal with a brutal SEC schedule so this gives them a breather to help get everybody healthy and rested.

before you start saying that UK is scheduling easy games you may wanna go back and look at West Virginia's Schedule!
Coastal Carolina, Marshall, Maryland, Syracuse, Connecticut, & Rutgers
West Virginia's Schedule Last Year some Notable Games:
Liberty, East Carolina, Colorado, Marshall and some others that are on this year's schedule
as i said before you start saying UK is scheduling Easy Teams you may wanna go back and look at West Virginia's Schedule Because They Also Have Several Easy Games and Its Each Year With Them

I did not say that. They are the best BCS conference in the country. But UK is two years removed from being 0-5 in the SEC East and still made a bowl game.

When you only play 7 conference games, you have to have 5 OOC games. Stewart wants to open play with the little guys because he once was the head coach at VMI. The Governor made us play Marshall. This year is the final scheduled game at Huntington for WVU. We go to LSU and have Maryland back on the schedule after a brief hiatus for them wanting to play Cal home and home. We are giving UNLV $700K for flying east. As for conference games....Syracuse was 3-0 vs Krags and almost beat us in 08. It took a Noel Devine TD run in the final minute to beat UConn last year. USF owns our butts as does Pitt. WVU has not lost to Rutgers in nearly 20 years. Cincy beat us two straight years. I do know that WVU has been to bowl games every season since 2002. WVU played in 2 BCS bowls in 3 years beating Georgia and Oklahoma. UK has not won an outright SEC title in 60 years. UK has not played in a New Years Day bowl since Timmy Couch. I suggest that Mitch Barnhart give new WVU AD Ollie Luck a phone call. I would love to have UK on the schedule.

well when you compete with Alabama, Florida and LSU its gonna be hard to win an outright SEC title....wonder what would happen if WVU played Alabama or Florida?

We would be another version of what you guys have been for the last 10 years in the SEC. At least if Stewart is still coach. Only at UK do y'all celebrate losses by tearing down the goal posts. WVU celebrate wins by burning couches. :flame:

if WVU played either Florida or Alabama they would get killed! if WVU was in the SEC they wouldn't win an SEC Title Either!

WVU's defense is not good enough to keep up in the SpeedEqualsChampionships.

Check out the 06 Sugar Bowl. The speed of Pat White, Darrius Reynaud, and Steve Slaton killed Georgia. Greg Blue is STILL looking the Georgia Dome over for his jock. WVU 38 Georgia 35.

i thought you said they killed Georgia? looks to me like they only came away with a 3 Point Win, that's not killing anyone

I'd be happy to see that happen since you guys have not beaten Florida in well over 20 years. You guys are even 0-Spurrier even since he arrived at South Carolina. Keep talking UK football fans, because your program is a classic joke, but wants to be taken serious because you are in the mighty SEC. Stick to talking basketball.

we LOVE UK in Any Sport! sure we don't have a powerhouse of a football team and schedule teams like Jacksonville State and Louisana Monroe but so does WVU, they schedule teams like Liberty, Marshall and couple others!
you'd be happy to go to the swap and get killed?!?

Over the past 10 years, WVU has had a better winning percentage vs the SEC than what UK has.
2000- Ole Miss (W)
2006- Georgia (W)
2006- MSU (W)
2007- MSU (W)
2008- Auburn (W)
2009- Auburn (L)
And this year we start a home and home against LSU.

True! but you talk about how UK schedules Easy Teams, when WVU does the same exact thing with Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Marshall and others!

If you guys want to argue about WVU vs. UK start another thread. This is ridiculous.
This is a deal that I would imagine will work out very well for Jacksonville State financially. How do you think Western Kentucky has developed the facilities they have? It is good for the bank account of a program to take your beatings from bigger schools for a few years.

I can understand your reluctance about talking about UK vs WVU considering Huggy denied Cal a slot at the Final Four.:ChairHit:
