Johnson Central 50 Paintsville 42
#1
Final
#2
i was at this game jc's chessi griffith came out on fire. this was an awesome game for her. Good win for the lady eagles, and a very good game for Griffith. Jarrell really didn't impress me tonight. I thought Paintsville girls where one of the top defenders of the 57th what happened?
#3
That was a good game. Jarrell should have been used more in this game....Carroll played a nice game..griffith played a very nice game, but paintsville had some girl on her that could not even keep up with her, thats werethe tigers had their problems
#4
Does anyone have any stats?
#5
I know Griffith had 14 rebounds alone and the whole paintsville team just had 18 altogether.

Paintsville only had 18 and the sad part is the guard Kendra Carroll prob had 7-8 of those

Congrats to JCHS. They outplayed PHS and outrebounded their way to a victory.

PHS:
L.Carroll 9 pts, 4-7 FG
K. Carroll 15 pts, 6-11 FG, 4 reb, 2 steals
Jarrell 10 pts, 4-5 FG, 6 reb
Russell 5 pts, 5 reb
Adams 1 pt
Van Hoose 2 pts

PHS had 16 turnovers
JCHS had 14 turnovers

PHS shot 17-40 FG for 43%

Free Throws:
PHS 6-10
JCHS 20-31

Chessi Griffith shot more free throws than PHS as a team did. She was 9-14 at the line.

It was a great game and all I know is that the district tourny is goin to be crazy, well lets set back and wait on the next meeting. Congrats Lady Eagles keep up the good work.
#9
why did it have to be this way?
#10
actually i am very disappointed in paintsvilles performance in both games
#11
Way to go JC!!! Congrats!
#12
I'm kinda suprised at this game, I figured Pville would beat JC with Jarrell down low, but it didn't happen.

I didn't make it out to the game tonight, but I did listen to it. According to Spike on WSIP, the Lady Tiger gaurds had trouble getting Chelsee the ball, I wasn't there so IDK, but if that was the case, this game might have been like last years games, OT or down to the wire. It sounded as if Chessi had a great game and I wanna say congrats to her, love her to death, I have known her for years, she is a hard worker and it sounded like it tonight. Spike kept saying that Chessi and Emily Wireman were double teaming Chelsee, if that was Wireman's game plan then he deserves an applaud, Wireman is the best coach in the region, and with the young talent he had right now, you can mark it down that he WILL win a couple more region championships in the next couple years. Congrats to the Lady Eagles and coach Wireman, Lady Tigers, keep your heads up.

Jarrell had the same problem she's had all year, double and triple teams. PHS tried too hard to get the ball to her a few times, which resulted into 5 turnovers.

BTW, the JCHS AD told a few fans that Jarrell got hacked to death all night and had 3 clean blocks that were called fouls. Welcome to Chelsee's world.

She was hit all night long, and those blocks were so CLEAN...They were nice blocks

Congrats JC.

That doesn't suprise me with the 15th region refs, these same refs did me the same way when I played that they do Chelsee, I don't know what they have against my family, it's pithetic.
#18
I was for the first time very happy with the refs at this game, it was a very good called game and the refs just let them play.
#19
Don't blame it on fouls! Good players find a way to score no matter the odds.
#20
wow thats a shock imo, you hear so much from the jerrel girl, did she not play good or wat?? good job jc
#21
Congrats

Jarrell worked her butt off trying to get the ball. They just couldn't get it to her much. She made 4-5 FG and 2 of those were from offensive rebounds. Until Paintsville can find a way to get the ball to Jarrell, they'll continue to struggle against the good teams. Well against JCHS, Paintsville had a hard time finding open shots anywhere. JCHS played a very good defensive game against Paintsville.

congrats

Noone's blaming anything on fouls, all I said was it didn't suprise me that they called clean blocks fouls on her, I never said Paintsville lost because of the refs. And if you know anything about Basketballer, then you would know that he/she is a NON-PAINTSVILLE FAN and he/she even thought the blocks were clean.

There you go trizo, the Lady Tigers biggest fan isn't even blaming the refs for their loss.

Congrats Lady Eagles

Those blocks were the cleanest blocks that I have seen this year. You could hear the smack on the ball.... They were nice....Basketballer is NOT a Paintsville fan...As she is a friend of mine!!!!!!

But I do agree, she(Jarrell) worked her butt off to get the ball and they just could not get it to her.....Central had a game plan and that was to keep the ball out of her hands, they kept that game plan and won the game....Had she got more touches might have been a different story, but she didn't.. I am sure these 2 teams will meet again....Let's just see if Central can hold that same game plan on the next meeting...

And to be honest I think Paintsville's coach is an crack head....He has her playing out of spot, she needs to rotate back and fourth on those blocks, not on the free throw line or roaming around on the wing.....

Bottom line, she gets touches and scores, its gonna open up the premiter game for the guards and Paintsville will win more ball games

That's what I said, she is a NON Paintsville fan, and I know that if she says they were clean then they had to be.

That's what spotwhiz was saying, even said that they tried to get her the ball quite a few times and it was knocked away before it got there or was stolen in the air because she was getting double teamed. And YES, they will meet again being in the same district and all, but it will be played at JC next time around, could possibly meet again after that in the district tourney.

Yeah, I noticed that every game, when the ball is away from her, she stays on the opposite side waiting for the ball to be rotated her way, which is DUMB, she should be the only player in the post unless Lauren Welch is in the with her, but still that offense is ridiculous, it's pretty much set up just so Kendra Carrol can do her thing. He even had Paintsville playing 5-out with Jarrell in the game, playing the wing or deep corner, what good is she out there, NONE, she can't shoot outside of 10 feet bless her heart, so why is she standing behind the 3-point line.

Exactly, and until Baldwin and the gaurds REALIZE that, then they are gonna have a sub-par year, a lil better than .500

congrats jc

IMO She's gettin ripped off this is her senior year. it should be her year to shine. I know she is a much better ballplayer than what they are letting her be. I hope they make some changes before tourney time cuz they are gonna need her skills, and abilities big time. She's gonna leave some hard shoes to fill. Carrol can not win a game alone, and without Jarrell's help they would be in some very tight spots.
