I know about Catholic and Boyle. But could someone fill me in on the ability of the other teams in the district? Also if anyone knows yet which other district they will be set up with for the first two rounds of the playoffs?

I would think we'd play District 6, in the first 2 rounds. As for the other teams I have no insight. Mercer has some young talent, they just don't have a coach, right now.

Thanks guys, I remember that mercer had a high ranking in class 4a during the preseason. Seeing that they are searching for a new coach probably means that they underperfomed

Actually they were in 5A this past season. I liked the former coach but Mercer has had some internal problems. They have a great talent base. I've got a feeling Mercer will be getting a bunch better.

When Mercer merged with Harrodsburg,I said look out.I will stick with that as Rains takes over. The speed and talent that has always been in Harrodsburg and the beef at Mercer.I would think he has the making of a monster.

Mercer has the most talent of any team in that district. It just hasn't been developed.

They do have the makings of a very good football team. Lots of talent. Problem was admin, parents, two "programs" shoved together. One group of people has wanted and still wants a "Harrodsburg" guy. Issues with AD, Super and things like that have made the job very difficult. Last coach wasn't a bad coach but walked into a mess. I think things are getting better and I think Coach Raines will do well. This team is about to get much better.....i think.

All i hear about Mercer is that they have a lot of talent. I really dont know about that because the last two years they have played Catholics freshmen teams and have been crushed.

The talent is there, the ability to develop it, coach it, guide it, motivate it, cultivate it and sustain it has not been there. All the way around from the coaches to kids to the parents are guilty for that. Things will change now that they are under new direction and that for the first time in a very long time EVERYONE is on board with the new coach. Mason never had the support Rains has gotten from day 1. I expect Mercer to be very competitive in our district until the next realignment.
