Pikeville dominated, but needs a lot of work still.

Pikeville had a nice balance on offense. They looked like they had several athletes out there. They moved the ball well. Defensively they had a hard time stopping the run game of JC. I am surprised to see the boys from JC do well. They have really come a long ways from last year. Good job Generals!

Not to be a smart alec, but what did Pikeville gain by this game? I realize they are down somewhat, but they need to step the competition level up some.

Pikeville looked very speedy, they will have a pretty decent squad. JC kids have come a long way, we will take them more seriously this year. JC scored 5 of 6 times on the goaline, you can win games doing that.

I would imagine thats why Belfry, Danville, Prestonsburg and Sheldon Clark are on the schedule?

Looks like another long year for the Generals. With changes iminent on the horizon at JCHS it may take years for the new Athletic Director, Principal and coaches to get things turned around in Jackson County. Politics has absolutely destroyed sports there. Seriously, is there a consolidated school in the mountains with less success than Jackson County? Just fielding a team and having a good time seem to be the way they want it there. Politics and sports don't mix!!!!

I spoke with a couple of the JCHS people this morning. They were very pleased with the effort last night. They said the JC kids played with a lot more effort and desire than in years past. They also said they gave up several big plays but had people there just didnt tackle well and was pleasantly supurised with the offensive performance against a good defense.

Sorry you feel this way. I believe the coaches at Jackson County are not from the county and have no connection to anyone there. How much do you actually know about JCHS? There is turn around to soon happen here in JC, don't worry about that.

Doesn't seem like it was a waste to me.
