We all know Bell and Dudley is notorious for sandbagging in the Grid, has done it for years. It will be interesting to see both teams on the field. Sounds as if Clay has some high expectations and we all know Bell ALWAYS does.
Would not suprise me to see Clay win this SCRIMAGE b/c Bell will play close to the vest in every phase.

in this type of game i have see coach hilton start a player at a position and never have that person play that position again. he knows they dont count and never takes them too seriously. almost all of the players will play some. i am sure that both teams will tinker with lineups and sub alot of players. i wouldnt look at this game as a bench mark for either teams season.

Bell does not put much stock in scrimages. I remember a few years ago when they were ranked in the top 3 overall in the state and lost to Cumberland in the scrimage only to turn around the next week and beat #2 ranked Highlands. Who knows what we will see?

I say Bell Co doesnt show much with Harlan Co and Knox Central both being at the same Gridorama.

What time will the Bell vs Clay game start?

[quote=BellCoBobcats09]I say Bell Co doesnt show much with Harlan Co and Knox Central both being at the same Gridorama.[/QUOTE) Look for Clay to hold out two and most likely three starters.

Not much stock to be put into it then!

I bet Clay treats this like a state championship.

This group of kids, (should be seniors now) both from Bell and Clay played in a 8th grade game where Bell upset a very good Clay Co. team. I'm sure Clay will put forth a good show'in.

I think most of the time we're going to agree on things but not this time. Bell won't do squat. Not because they can't, but because they won't. I'll be surprised if you see much of anything from Bell....

i think coach hilton will show some things. he has in the past thrown a flee flicker, double reverse or some other trick plays out the just so there is evidence/tape that bell can do things like that to keep teams guessing, but he will almost never do them in real games.

Bell has the advantage of being the favorite in the mountains. Clay will try to win because a win against Bell even in a scrimmage would be a confidence booster for their kids. But it will mean nothing even if Clay wins by 3 touch downs.

Game doesnt start until 7pm now due to the HEAT. If it doesnt stop storming there will be NO Grid tonight @ KC.

I was just downtown though and it seems to be letting up some. Weather.com has nice feature that shows radar and predicts that path of storms. It shows it all clear by 7 pm and the temp back up in the 80s with no more rain until 11 pm. Gives a nice football window! Let's hope.
Have a great game and a great season.
