With Kentucky owning a three-run lead after five innings, No. 4 South Carolina struck for five runs in the top of the sixth inning and held off a late-inning rally from UK, handing the Wildcats an 13-9 series-opening loss, on a gorgeous Friday night at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
