Highlands 42 Johnson Central 21
It's great to see that Johnson Central lost to such gracious winners. The Golden Eagles must have played a lot of dirty football to hang so close for so long with the mighty Blue Birds. There can be no other explanation.

I can only imagine how the Highlands fans will handle a loss!

What little piece of the block you can see in this film segment looks like it is more than likely a clean block because the Highlands player is facing the fallen defender who hits the ground. FWIW, I'm a Boyle grad and fan and have no real allegiance to either program. I just opened the video out of curiosity and seriously can not see a single "block in the back" in this video.
UPON FURTHER REVIEW....I went back and scrutinized the play. #55 gets 3 blocks on this play. The first looks like he pushes his man and the guy falls forward. #55 continues downfield for block #2 and looks as if he pushes/trips the guy (right in front of the ref). The 3rd block is when he turns around and just buries a guy at midfield. I believe kid that got blocked in the second block was the guy who retaliated on Combs, #77. I guess they can't tell a five from a seven...or 6'2"/220 from 6'6"/280! Two of #55's blocks were illegal...maybe...
I just have a question. Is wackem some sort of an outcast amoung Highland's fans and the program in general,or something?
First off you make that statement, and then I get multiple PM's from other Highlands fans that advise to totally ignore anything that he has to say. It's not been just one!!!

I'm just wondering here if this is not a case of a fan without a team?

I honestly don't have a clue who Whackem is so I don't know if he is an outcast or not. Heck, I don't even know if he really is a Highlands fan. He could be a NewCath fan disguising as a Highlands fan to make us look bad.

I made my comment based solely on his posts on here. There is usually a kernel of truth in a lot of his posts, but he says it in a way that makes me think he just likes to get people stirred up. I used to get riled up, but now I just chuckle when I read them. I'm sure he doesn't care what I think of his posts, nor should he. Oh well, to each his own.
I thought you only felt that way about MY posts!!! Sad LOL!

I consider myself an affable young man. I ask questions, yes, often sauce laden, but legitimate. I am turning over a new leaf for the rest of the season. I will keep my game analysis on the up and up and apologize to those whom I've offended. It's time for Whackem' to grow up on here. It has been an amusing run though.
Can you dig it? Wrote:It's been so long that we kinda forgot.:devilflam

You know it hurts when you run into a brick wall the pain doesn't go away so fast. One of these days i don't know when but Highlands will run into a brick wall and their pain will be enjoyed ..........

Just putting this out there JC will eventually get you guys it has been proven for 2 years now that you guys have trouble with their O. If their D improves they could beat you guys. and you know they will be super motivated for it. just give them time and they will beat you guys.

Maybe, but they better hurry, or drop down to 4A with us.
As for the offense, Highlands had less trouble with it this year than last. I suspect that trend would continue.

Still having trouble getting a handle on that two-wheeler, eh Ram?:lmao:
I know that they'll eventually lose and that all the haters will have a field day. No one is perfect for long, but I don't see anyone beating them this year, and 44-1 isn't a bad record for a three year run.:flame:

From the sound of what i've been hearing J.C. & HIGHLANDS won't be playing next year unless they play a regular season game . Word on the street is they will be in different classes . Anyboby have any info. What about it WACKEM have you heard anything......:eyeroll:

This is the rumor, but from a numbers standpoint it seems to point that way. Both Highlands and CovCath will fall within the 4A classification, and CovCath is the district opponent that the Birds want to keep. Too bad if that is the case. I like 5A and I like the idea of another trip to JC next year if the playoffs shake out that way. This was just starting to get interesting.

I do believe next year will be the last time these two teams meet in the play offs. Fort Thomas moves to 4A in 2011. correct me if I am wrong. Putting Highlands on the regular schedule would do nothing but help JC come play off time. IMO the tough early schedule is what helped this team a lot this year. The down side this will never happen to far to drive.

JCHS state champs 2010 " has a nice ring to it"

IDontHateYou or your posts.
You should always look at the positives.
1. That play I'm sure will be used to train officials. The result will be a play like this will result in an ejection.
2. If the offending player would have been in the NFL he would be writing a check for $50,000.00.
It is good when something positive can come out of a negitive, and I do agree that this is a negitive. But this kid isnt in the NFL. My point is that this is a kid, there was poor judgement on his part but he wasnt the only one that exhibted poor judgement. There were alot of dirty plays in that game, his was just out in the open. I have also seen the film, and while one hit doesent justify another, he took a pretty bad hit himself. This hit that knocked him flat on his face from behind could have caused him injury as well. I hope that when the training film is made they identify all of the dirty plays by both teams and dont use one hit to distract attention away from anything that the other team did durring the course of the game. I was told that he apoligized to the kid and the official and it was over, so I dont see the reason behind these attacks on this kid by adults.
I would like to praise you on your ability not to crucify this kid based on one act. From the angle that I watched the film, it appeared as if he was flat backed. It didnt even look as if he had time to use his hands to catch himself, it sure didnt look like he knew it was coming, but you are correct it didnt justify another hit.Just as the hit did not justify all of the things that have been said on here about a kid.

I hope that you understand that I was not attempting to justify this hit by pointing out that he was not the only kid on the field that made a poor decession. I was pointing out that if everyone was judging him then the other team should be held to the same standard. I was at the game, there were alot of cheap shots going both ways that could have been viewed as intent to cause injury but I try not to judge others and think that I can determine their intent behind an action. No one on this thread knows what was going through this kis's head and that we should reserve judgement. That is all I wanted to say before this thread closes and I hope that it does soon because two wrongs doesnt make a right and this thread is the second wrong.

Am I the only one that thinks this was just a hard hitting game. Yes I did see the cheap shot by the JC player and a punch was thrown by another, but it was not a dirty game. I did not see any shots by Highlands (not saying there wasn't) but did any birds fans see any? Highlands had more than usual personel fouls early in the year, but I feel the coach got it under control.
I think that I may have figured out why that everyone has reacted to this play. After reading a beechwood post it became clearer. . See below.

Form a previous thread "Yes, the play was blown dead. The BW player was either pumped by the interception or ticked at the face mask and was up bouncing around and a Highlands player delivered a blow to the BW player's head ... who was without his helmet due to the face mask".
Just wondering was the highlands kid tar and feathered also?

Oh no I rememer that was ok because I read from Highlands poster whom said that the hit wasnt visious and the player shoulnt be ejected because "football is a contact sport". Wow a blow to the head to a kid without a helmet, they may have just compared to what the JC kid did.
Keep this thread civil. Last warning.
I would close the thread. The game is over and all we are gonna have now are cheap shots. JC fans good luck over the spring and summer and hopefully we see ya next November. Have a great Turkey Day!
