Covington Holmes standout Ricardo Johnson, the MVP of last year's Kentucky Sweet 16, has signed his letter-of-intent with Ohio University.
The 6-foot-4 Johnson had been committed to the Bobcats in September.
Holmes coach David Henley said the guard signed and the paperwork has been faxed back.
Johnson averaged 11 points and five rebounds a game last season as a junior when he helped the Bulldogs win the Kentucky state title.
Henley said Johnson "really thought through his decision," before opting to go to Ohio.
"He was not going to make a snap decision," Henley said. "He's the kind of kid who is not going to be swayed by bright lights and big city fluff. When he went on his visit (to Ohio) and they came here, he had questions he had written down and things he wanted to know about them. It was a thought out process by him. He was the English Student of the Year award last year. He's the kind of kid that was going to do the best thing for him."
Henley said Jeremiah Johnson is getting some Division I interest and will sort through the process as the season goes on, while Elijah Pittman is still not academically qualified.
