I read in the Daily Independent that Russell athletic director Sam Sparks has announced last night that Russell will name their field after Ivan McGlone. As the head football coach at Russell, he has picked up 252 wins, 16 district championships, 9 regional championships, and 2 state championships. Coach McGlone has done so much for the football program at Russell, and he's very deserving of this. Congratulations coach!

Congratulations to coach Ivan McGlone and the 2A State Champion Russell Red Devils. I think by far this is a good move by the AD. I think that for a man who has basically put this program on the map, it is necessary.
