I kinda figured Dixie's size and speed would be too much for Ashland.
NKY 5A is probably the best in the state with Dixie, Highlands, and Covcath.
Congrats Colonels and good luck next week against Highlands.

Rob Van Winkle Wrote:The playoff game does matter, even if you're going to drilled by Highlands the next week. It can be a program building win, regardless of the opponent the next week. To say that the game is meaningless takes too much away from the Dixie players who worked hard and played thier tails off. If Ashland wins this game, it would have the same impact on them.
That being said, yes they need to schedule harder teams, and yes whoever plays Highlands is going to get beat.
Excellent Post RVW.

That wouldnt of beat Highlands anyway next rounds so this game really has no meaning. Ashland schedules area schools taht are all smaller then them, they beat them by 20 or more and think they have an all time team. If a 5A school doesnt finish 9-1 in regualr season with a week schedule like theirs then that school is a joke. Ashland does this every year, well when they even make the playoffs, Hart needs to stop bein scared and schedule more games that will actually prepare them for November and on. Who cares about a good record if you go out in the first round?
Why should they do that.....They can only beat class A schools once every 4 years.

They won't.

Gate and crowds matter more than getting prepared for the playoffs? Ashland needs to drop Greenup, Boyd, and that Waverly Ohio team they played. But bottomline Ashland is a good football program. Lots of area interest with the community along with good tradition. But will Ashland ever be able to beat the top dogs like Highlands and CovCath? Those teams continue to get better programs each year. And Ashland just tends to stay the same or fluxiate from a little bit down to a little bit up.
