6 days to prepare...

If you're any kind of football fan, I highly recommend the following story from Ryan Ernst about Holmes and their preparation for Friday night's home playoff game against East Jessamine.

Whether you're a fan of Holmes or not, it's truly a great read.

"Saturday is Taxi Service Day," Lickert says. "There's usually seven or eight of them who need rides, so we coordinate with all the different coaches and get everyone a ride."

Wow, some of us just don't realize how well our kids have it.

The coaches did the same thing over the summer when they were holding practice at 6 in the morning to avoid the heat. Every morning the coaches would make sure everyone had a ride.

Truly shows just how much these coaches care about these kids and want to see them succeed.

That it does, these coaches sound grade A

Great story. All parents should read this story. And the next time you begin to complain about your coaching staff think of the amount of time they put into working with your sons

This story is pretty common here in the mountains. More than people could ever imagine. But a real coach that is really interested in the success of the kids and the program will find a way for all children to be given a chance to participate no matter what their social status is.

Good story. That is not a big difference in what happens at a lot of the mountain schools of EKY. I know kids that ride a bus 90 minutes every evening to get home from practice at Bell Co. and many coaches that run the "taxi service." That is why coaches are special people in this day and age.
