Prestonsburg 21 Shelby Valley 12
#61
Prestonsburg is a heck of a team.

I really hope their is another rematch of this game in a couple of weeks, for a regional title this time.

Great game, and I really thought Valley could've pulled it off, but Burchett and Pburg earned it, as they went 99 yards for the WIN!!

congrats to pburg

haha. You're one helluva running back and player. I like the class you post with on here and I like the confidence in your team. Good luck the rest of the season and I hope we get to see you again in the playoffs. Good luck at the next level as well. I'm sure you have a bright future ahead.

It makes me proud to be an EKY high school football fan to see two opposing high school football players that played such a tough football game against each other to come on here and post such outstanding comments about each other with class. It says a lot about the family, coaches, schools, and the individuals involved. Keep representing us as you did here. GO PRESTONSBURG, GO SHELBY VALLEY (BUT JUST SV IF YOU MEET AGAIN, HA HA).

I agree completely. I am proud of both teams, all the players, and the coaches, not only for the obvious class they displayed before, during, and after the game, but also because they all seem to very complimentary of each other. Varney from Belfry was outstanding, Fugate was great, but neither Belfry nor Breathitt county had an entire GROUP of running backs with as much talent or class as SV. I will be rooting for Shelby Valley in every game (Except when they play Pburg). AND if they should meet in the Regional Finals and SV should beat Pburg, then I would root for them in the State Semis and all the way to State. Let's hope that one of these 2 teams gets to Bowling Green.
