I got a question for you. Why should an 8th grader go to Pikeville, Prestonsburg, Paintsville instead of Betsy Layne, Allen Central, South Floyd. This is just not with those schools but schools around the state.
I really want to know the reasoning behind this.
Allen Central South Floyd and Betsy Layne all has got players getting looked at by colleges, AC is got the twins getting looked at be UK. South Floyd got Kyle Howell to EKU and BL got two boys going to Pikeville. While BL also has some younger guys getting looked at by EKU, WKU, and other colleges.
All programs can get you to college, none of the programs have won a state title in 18 years. I'm not trying to knock any other programs but what is the logic thinking of a parent/guardian wanting to send them to another high school after they played so long in a feeder system.

Have to go to the highest bidder.

Because they want to possibly:
1) Play in a playoff game
2) Have any aspiration of contending for a State Title
3) They want to have the best competition possible to push them
4) Have a more talented coaching staff
5) Have better facilities to use

I agree with 2-5. No.1 about everyone gets a playoff game.

If BL wants to get kids in they have to work on feeder programs. Get the kids out. Usually when you commit to the feeder program it takes 3-5 years.

Couldn't say it any better.
Kids want to go to a school where winning is expected. They want to be pushed.

Because at all three schools football is treated as just something to do till B-ball starts. There are some schools where a kid would rather ride the pine in B-ball than start in football. Thats why a kid who loves to play football would rather go to a place where football is taken a little more seriously and I dont blame them.

I think you all are off topic, nevermind. The grade school bobcats won county first time in school's history. I am talking about years past. The bobcats don't lose kids to other programs now, I was just curious what has changed.

Besides what has already been mentioned, the bottom line is that the Floyd Co. School System is arguably the worst school system in the state of KY.

If Breathitt is in the same one as Hazard, PCC, Pikeville, and JC.... Then Hazard won it last year. The year before that PCC won it.... Before that i don;t know who won it....

I think he is referring to the Bobcats of Betsy Layne.
