High school basketball highlights: NewCath wins on buzzer beater

Matt Giesler tipped in the ball as the horn sounded to give Newport Central Catholic a 43-41 win over Dixie Heights in the first round of the 9th Region playoffs Thursday at Highland Heights.

Senior guard Jeramie Connor scored 14 points to lead the Thoroughbreds. Connor's miss in the final seconds set up Giesler's tip-in to win it.

NewCath will face Holmes in the semifinals on Sunday
