I don't know what is in the water but I would say it has something in it. I bet for a county it's size it has the most set of twins in it as anyone in the state. And a few sets play basketball.

ha...good stuff.
these kids are the real deal. there is no off season for this group. since they could walk, they've all had a basketball in their hands. i think they can give any team a run for their money. i think their defense is more impressive than the offense. any team who can put up 132 and STILL hold an opponent to 67? thats pretty good. Many times that a team scores in the 100's the other team is close to 80 or 90. I don't see anyone in the region competing with them. if its possible, i think they're even more dominant than they were last year. Timmy Knipp getting stronger is a scary thing. Good luck Lions

Agreed. We have two sets coming up. All 4 are brothers, the youngest are already playing Little League Baseball at age 3. The oldest, along with their teammates are already drawing comparisions to what the current HS team done at their ages...

Everyone played.............. Can't help it that they all didn't score.... Tell me, do all members of SV score in every one of their blowout wins?????????????? Nah, didn't think so.............

FBALL Wrote:Who said they didn't get a chance?
It seems like they would have been able to get at least a point between 5 players when a team is up by 38 at the half, and up by 61 after 3. I guess Elliott must have been worried about a 4th quarter run late in the game and not let the boys who may never get a point play.

Nobody ever said that the 5 that didn't score all were on the floor together... Anyways....................I'll ask again, that way you can't pretend you didn't see it. Do ALL of the SV subs score in their blowouts???????????????? Either give an honest answer or quit trying to take away from another team.. DO THOSE SOUR GRAPES STILL TASTE THAT BAD????????? Your interest wasn't even there yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not complaing just observation
It seems there is a double standard,Why are some allowed to critizise or say whatever they want about a team and when someone defends it they are accused of being out of line?
Anyway congrats to Elliott on their win and yes they beat West and they are no pushovers.

There are ways to keep this from happening.
Only nine players from Elliott Co scored.
Are there only nine players on the roster?

I wasnt trying to make comparisons between any team. I just think if I was a coach, and my team had a 61 point lead going into the 4th quarter, everyone would have scored in that game or we would have only got 8 points of less in the 4th. A few years ago, I was an assistant coach. The games we had blowouts in, yes every person on the team scored at least once. I didnt mean for my previous post to sound bad on the team. Of course players are supposed to play hard when they are on the court.

Congrats to Elliott.
I actually have no problem with the score. When Elliott has the ball, they're supposed to try to score, and the other team is supposed to try to stop them. Obviously, one team was a lot better at their objective than the other.
The only complaint I ever have is when a team leaves their starters in long after a game is decided (which apparently Elliott did not do). Not because I think it's poor sportsmanship, but because it serves no purpose, other than to take a risk on a star player getting hurt. Younger players should be put in so they get a chance to improve their skills, not because of some "unwritten code".
In the end, basketball is a simple game. It involves two main goals: score, and stop the other team from scoring. Elliott is as good as anybody in the state at the former.

To be fair, Ashland put up 110 against this Boyd County team, so I'm really assuming that Elliot couldn't help but put 132 up.

Good point.
Ashland only scored 57 against SV, so when they practically double that total against Boyd County, it says quite a bit about Boyd's defense (or lack thereof). Elliott probably would have hit 150 if the starters were in longer.

Elliott could have broke 200 had they wanted.

 Thanks Fball, and I agree. If they wanted to run up the score this would have been much, much worse........I know that they very well might not make it to Sat. at Rupp.......But I've heard people run Elliott down my whole life, My proudest moment as an Elliott resident was last year at the Sweet Sixteen, when these kids won over every non-partisan fan in Rupp... The guy in front of me, When Elliott was about to take the lead in the 3rd, looks at his buddy and says..."Elliott is about to take over this gym." And by the end they had. That man as I found out later was the coach of Clinton Co I believe it was...... Find ways to pick at this team and these kids if you want.......In my eyes, the drought they broke and the positive light they brought to my little county..........Thats better than any state championship! Go Lions!
