2009 Raceland Rams
#1
Raceland will loose several key players next year. Robby Logan, Sabastian Johanssen, Cody Chinn and Kory Baldridge from the offensive and defensive line, while losing their QB Tyler Boyles and RBs Brett Denton and Johnscott Carver. The receiving corps will lose Todd Selvage and Brian Tolliver. The kicking game will lose Tate Preston. Needless to say, their biggest lost will be on the line of scrimmage and in the back field.

Next year, we wont see the same power running game, but the will have the ability to run the ball consistantly. Here's what the returning running backs did did in 2008.

31 Cody Kelly 31 rushes for 194 yds and 5 tds
34 Michael Litteral 14 rushes for 59 yds and 1 td
23 Ralph Burchett 27 rushes for 189 yds and 2 tds
16 Marcus Reed 14 rushes for 103 yds and 1 tds
41 Dylan Scaggs 3 rushes for 74 yds and 2 tds
2 Jeremy Barr 91 rushes for 358 yds 8 tds(while at Central Hardin)

I think we'll see alot of running back by committee. Kelly is definitely the power back and is the only rb that started this season. He will be a senior, as is Dylan Skaggs, but the rest are just JRs and SOs. They will definitely have a solid running game, but next year, they'll be a faster and finess style running team, IMO.

At quarter back, you'll see Tyler Farley.

14 Tyler Farley 22/40 with 127 yds and a touchdown with only 3 ints.

He's not a very mobile quarter back, but he's strong and has a very strong arm and good vision. He saw almost all of the snaps against Fairview and did a great job in keeping the team in check and controlling the huddle.

The receiving corps will be:

2 Bobby McKee 10 receptions for 109 yds
28 Loren Huffman 1 reception for 42 yds
2 Jeremy Barr 54 receptions for 844 and 6tds(while at Central Hardin)

On the defensive side of the ball, they'll lose their FS, SS, MLB, LOLB, RT, LT. They will return a LB Cody Kelly, CBs Patrick Hamilton and Daniel Jones. They also return several lineman that saw plenty of snaps.

Notice that Jeremy Barr was NOT at Raceland this year but at Central Hardin. Seems like a good football player, and if he remains at Raceland next year, he should be a great asset.

I see this Raceland team doing well in the season and making a good run in the play offs. They have good experience and return some good size. They will miss Logan and Johanssen in the running game, but will play more of a finess and passing game again. Good luck to next years Rams!!!

The kicker will likely be Rocky Jobe. He was a lineman this year, but saw him kick off a few times last year and seems to have a strong leg. Don't know about field goals, but I would say he'll handle kick offs.
