The #1 team in the state prevails tonight over the #2 team in the state, but not by much. Looks like PRP is the outright favorite this year, and it doesn't look like any upset is in their future this year like last. Personally I hope someone knocks them off.

PRP has been at one time or another during the season been ranked #1 for the last several seasons. Quite a program there, but they seem to have trouble nailing the lid on the coffin.

Yea and actually a Louisville based school has not won it in the last 10-12 years. Lexington and other schools have dominated in the last decade or so. Last year they should have won it, but Bill Miller out-coached himself and blew it. Year after year ever starter could get signed to play college ball if they choose, that's just how good they are.

Not exactly sure what year it was but I think maybe the last Louisville team to win a state championship was when Jeremy Sowers played for Ballard and they beat Boyd Co. in the finals.

the 1996 prp team beat Greenup, Greenup was ranked in the top 15 in the nation at the time and prp won i think 5-3

They are stacked head to toe as always and they have probably the best 3b in the state (Zack Cox) who signed with Arkansas. He had two hr's last year at applebee's park during the state tournament. PRP is ranked nationally right now at the 22 spot on Baseball America's top 25. I'd be suprised if they didn't win. LCA might make it there too. I can't wait!!!!

Maybe it was Sowers's team that knocked Boyd out of contention then. Did Henderson beat Ballard in the championship game in 2000?

In this game you never know, heck either team you just mentioned may never even make it out of the region. It happens every year that a prohibitive favorite gets knocked off.

Is Cox going to Arkansas as a pitcher, or a postion player? He's good at both.

I'm pretty sure he ended the season last year batting around .540, with around 10 or 11 bombs. I dont know what he's done this year but I'm sure he's rackin' up some good numbers.

I think he also hit around 93 on the gun when he was a sophomore pitching against Boyd Co. in the state tournament too. Kids got a ton of talent.

That's the reason why I was wondering what Arkansas's primary interest in him was.

FSU's Buster Posey plays 3 positions, and is great at each one of them. He's a reliever, starting catcher, and shortstop. And, I believe he's leading the nation in slugging %. I'm not 100 percent sure but i'll check up on it.
