Glad to hear that. This is good for ER and the 15th region as well. He is a good guy with a great work ethic and attitude. He will take on all comers, because he knows that thats the only way to get better. Play anyone and any team regardless of how good they are or tradition. That is his greatest asset, in my opinion.

The parents tried to get rid of him again, but he is tight with the super.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The parents and players both love Coach Spears and noone at ER has a problem with him, except maybe you!

I know more than you would think. He better hope JC wins the board election, or you may see a coaching change quicker than you think. I could care less who coaches the team. Er hiring him was the best thing that happened to the 15th region. Now a team that should be competing for a champship this year and next will not be in the top 5.

Like I said you don't know anything about the ER basketball team or the ER parents or the board race. I don't understand your comment about a championship this year and not in the top 5 next year.

Yeah.....if I'm not mistaken Faith said he would never Coach in Pike Co again. Obviously SHE was wrong. If you go back and look at her posts.....she obviously has an ax to grind with Bobby and she uses this board to do that grinding.

We might have to bite the dust for now, but things will take care of themselves and the people involved. Hope you like the state of Virginia. You know who I'm talking about and who all is involved. Can you say eligibility?

This thread needs to be closed. Coach Spears did not quit, he is still at East Ridge. He still has a young team, with no seniors again this year. Everything on the Ridge is fine.

I don't know much about the situation, but if this is an adult talking that are making these comments I don't know why the adult wouldn't want the kid to be able to play. Shame on you!

Just an observation of ER, but who runs the program over there? I don't know, and don't claim to know but have they evey had a coach for more then two years. If the statement is true tha parents can rus a coach off, then I dont think that they will every go to far because you have to have some type of stabel coaching. Every coach has their way of doing thing, but if that is changing every year then I feel sorry for those players at that school that want to play. From what I know of BS, he is a good person and coach, but you can not do mericals in one year or two! Just an outside view but this team needs someone to actually coach them for more then 2 years.

He is still coaching as far as I know. The thread was a question of that and that alone. We don't need to turn this into bashing.
End of story.
