2023 8th grade state starts tonight. I know there have been some shake ups for some teams with injuries and players getting pulled up to high school. Any other thoughts on the top teams to look for?

New user so bumping up an old thread.  The JCPS and State tournaments for 8th Grade Boys start this week.

I'm kind of an analytics nerd so I put together all the scores I could find to rank the teams and set some odds - "for entertainment only" of course.

I don't have enough scores from across the state to feel confident in any of the seeding games for state, so will repost with state rankings after those early games. I know there are some great teams from across the state - Woodford Co, Lex Catholic, Corbin, Ashland, Wayne County, & Breathitt all stood out with some of the results I did see. I'm sure teams like Hindman, EJ Hayes and North Laurel are still great as well. Who are the other teams you all will watch for?
