Big early season road win by the southsiders. The region runs thru London this year. Mabe continues to be dominant on defense. Nl was ranked as high as 9th but I think they are a year away

I wasn’t there only seen the score but that seems like it was a low scoring game. It may be hard to keep up with what seems like a pretty high powered offense in Corbin and Harlan County.

I guess you probably don’t realize that year in year out SL is among the top 10 defense in the state per Khsaa. And NL has a good one as well. they both typically hold the high powered offenses well below their average. The Davidson Boy for NL was averaging 27, SL held him to 11-zero in the 2nd. Corbin is an afterthought. Harlan’s Huff is averaging 27 spg. Will get half that against either of the Laurels. Region runs thru Laurel

I hope the other regional contenders are thinking as you.

As far as anything running through Laurel County, only a big pile of sh!t and a whole lot of criminal activity by elected officials, and school officials run through that place. I'd be perfectly okay with 119 counties... well, 118... do away with Clay, as well.

Keep sleeping on Coach Pietrowski's troops.

Remember what I told you about a selfish player in a previous post and start looking at some of the of the 13th medias posts and you will see a certain player laughing at posts he is left of off and don’t get me going about big piles of shit. Corbin is the clickish place in the state, since a couple of refs retired they don’t seem to win as much anymore do they? Not a coincidence you ole grumpy bastard

I think corbin has a huge upside. SL has a great Defense! They pass 20 times it seems every possession and are extremely disciplined. They are so well coached. With that said, I think Corbin can beat them. I saw them play at HC and Madison central. I think the emergence of that akins kid is gonna be a real factor. He is better than any guard either of those teams have faced yet and better than any on either team in my humble opinion. Throw pietrowski in there and they contend. They are no strangers to winning either.

First thanks for being a decent person unlike the ODB poster earlier. Akins is very good offensively will not deny it. However the Cooper kid(Johnson-a 3star D1) was much better and SL done a great job on him. Roark at the 118 county Clay is an all region guard and was held in check till garbage time. SL held Noah last year to 2 of his lowest totals of the season. Akins while good is no Andrew Taylor. And NL has 4 pretty good guards and something only 1 other team in the region has—-6’8 size. So far for Corbin when Akins has a good game Eli doesn’t and vice versa. Yes tremendous upside but no where’s close yet. My opinion next year it’s Corbin and NL. But this year as of now, it runs thru that big steamy pile of crap Laurel county(Hey Old school let’s go to the Legion and have a beer and see who can make each other the maddest—I’ll bring Haddix with me just to get you going)

Forgot about the kid from cooper. They did do a great job on him. SL just has a way of making teams look bad with the way they play defense and their pace. Akins also getting 8 rebs game in addition to playing very smart and running that team from the PG position. Roark is very limited with his lack of shooting other than point blank. Mabe cut him off everytime he drove. Colton Rawlings is a heckuva player but he looks uncomfortable sometimes playing point which is not natural to him. I think they really miss the younger steele kid who handled a lot last year. I agree with the inconsistency with corbin. They will need another shooter too. If evan ellis could get eligible he would fill that role but who knows? Corbin shoots the ball better than last year which isnt saying much but they lost a lot of toughness from that team. NL is not better than HC either. Bell struggling without Blake burnett. My updated teams list which will change im sure is HC, SL, Corbin, NL, Bell, clay and knox in my opinion.

Did you seriously call Old School a bastard??? I thought I was the only person that could use that word. Yes, I am a grumpy old bastard, possibly even a filthy, old grumpy  bastard. Btw, the player you referenced has shared the ball pretty well so far. Looks like one of the 13th region's best players for years to come. Did your gf squat in the young man's cucumber patch? It seems personal with him.

This is my only fear with SL… Defensively year in and year out top 10 in the state Davis does a fabulous job with that. I just wish he would turn them boys loose a little bit offensively.

Figures you would hang out at the Legion. Lots of really dirty old bastards hang out there trying to make out with dirty young girls.  Btw, you haven't made me mad. You paid me a great compliment in calling me a grumpy bastard. But the Legion is definitely not my thing.

Former VA coach Tony Bennett tells Jeff to hold his damn beer. Not a very exciting offensive style.  Tough , hardnosed defense that Jeff teaches, though. I've said for years that he is the 13th region's best coach. Just a damn shame that he lives in that sh!thole of a place in Laurel County.

I'm on good terms with anyone who wants to be on good terms with me. I have no probs with you whatsoever. None.  I'm glad you understand that I'm a GOB(and that doesn't mean Good Ol' Boy) and have to rant occasionally to keep from completely landing smack dab in the cuckoo's nest. I'm a sick man , always within one bad day of a complete meltdown. You, and others will miss me when I'm gone from here. Smile    Btw, let me reiterate, Mr. Jefferson Davis is the best coach in the region and has been for many years. He has taken Pietrowski out behind the courthouse( inot Appomattox) in recent years and whipped Tony's candied ass.

I've always said in the 13th Davis and Tony are 1a and 1b with Brad almost there. Either of those 2 can put together a gameplan to stop anyone. And you are a GOB but I'm right behind you as a ODB lol. Appomattox lol, I see what you did there my friend.
