CAL will be hard to beat but if Union can eat clock and shorten the game and get a turnover they have a shot. Don’t think this will be a blow out. I’ll say 42-21 CAL

Rooting for Union County, but how they even got to this point is surprising to me. Any insiders that can provide some insight as to how their season transpired? Is 3A really just that weak or did they have a major turnaround at some point? It's the blowout losses to MNH and Murray, and then a close game against McLean County that stand out the most. Must be something about schools that start with M. I certainly wouldn't have predicted based on those games that the same team would beat Glasgow, Adair County, Hart County, and Belfry convincingly.

Wouldn’t that have been 4A since Boyle has won the last 4 titles? I know they lost but 3A has had 3 state champions in the last 4 years.

Aside from Boyle Co, there are still some really talented teams in 4A, just none that could take down the machine Boyle has built.

I think 2A is a really weak class also.  The east side of 3A is a lot stronger than the west side of 3A.  Also have the two best teams in 3A in the same district.

I don't think Union has played anybody like Hodge for CAL. He is a great runner and passer. He also has several weapons at WR in the passing game. He is a major difference maker and if they can't slow down the CAL QB it will be a long game for Union.

Union isn't overall a big team. they do have good team speed....especially on offense. I also see Cal working the middle of the field in the passing game.....something that Belfry failed to do. Guessing that Cal will not only match speed with Union.....but also exploit a defense that will have to honor the run and pass. could be a long day for the Braves. BUT.......I caution folks who are thinking this will be a cake walk for CAL. Johnson is a very very nice player. Good feet, good vision and is a strong runner. IMO, he will be more at the QB spot against CAL....vs. him splitting time equally at RB. He can break a defense down .....and I would expect some big plays from Union. I just don't think defensively, Union is good enough to stop Cal
