Where does this losing streak end?

Yeah, that comparison is just putrid.  A team not scoring for 12 quarters in a row is hard to sit through.

Looking at the rest of the Ads schedule, it's hard to see a win.  They won't beat Campbellsville, Breathitt, Somerset, or Bardstown.  So that leaves Leslie County, who has a good W/L record but has piled it on bad teams.  But I don't see that game even being close because the Ads are struggling so much offensively.  Maybe they can find something that works but they just don't have enough talent or the numbers.  So odds are they go 0-5 and have to go to Beechwood like last year and get run off the field. So the Ads could be going into next year on an insane 23 game losing streak.

Last year's team had more talent than this one IMO and still went 0-11.  Losing Baughman to Mercer was a major blow in the offseason.

Administration HAS to make a change if this doesn't turn around in some way soon. The new superintendent played under Sam Harp and knows this isn't on brand. Harp was on Chuck Smith's podcast this week and noted that the school has lost its way.

This off season will be crucial for the Ads. Too many directions for kids to go get playing time and you can have the bets talent leaving for perceived better pastures.

I don’t want the Danville program to fail and I don’t like the idea of advocating for someone to lose a job, but there has to be wholesale changes.

At some point, you have to do what it right for every one.

I just worry that this level of damage is hard to repair or come back from. I sound like a broken record on the Danville posts, I know. I grew up in a time where their name was synonymous with Kentucky football so I know what they’re capable of but the rebuild has to be immediate and with a name people trust.

If you can’t get Clevenger back or hire someone with his clout, you’re in trouble.

There is an interesting question here: is it too late? For what it's worth, I think the sun has set on Danville's empire. I don't think Danville will continue to be this bad, but I see their best seasons in the future being mediocre by Admiral standards. A couple winning seasons here and there but that is about it.

There is no question that things are not well in Danville and it will take a massive rebuild to get things going again. However, the system has athletes. They just need to be retained and kept in the system. That alone gives Danville an edge over other schools. And winning does cure all problems. But what is being done right now is nothing that is going to get the community excited, which is why fan support is at a record low point since Peach was replaced by someone who many perceived to be a big downgrade. And Peach didn't get a fair shake because of how the Clevenger firing was carried out. It's unfortunate but it would've been almost impossible for anyone to succeed with what he walked into. So I do feel bad for what happened to Peach. Less so in the present situation which was almost done to spite the fans who were clued in early who the admin wanted to hire post-Peach and criticized it. And it's telling everyone who made that decision is gone from the system. The superintendent that signed off on it didn't even last more than 10 months.

Danville's administration has to communicate to alumni, donors, and the public that they care about the program and will get it going again. Sam Harp was recruited in the 1980s due to efforts of the administration since he has said many times he turned the job down three times before board members and the superintendent showed up to his house and convinced him to come. There's money in Danville to make the right investments. And I read elsewhere that Danville's current superintendent played under Harp and its principal is part of the athletic Hall of Fame so I feel like they would have the right pieces here to make a good hire.

If someone had to ask me what the biggest threat is to Danville I wouldn't say its Boyle taking talent. Boyle is a juggernaut right now thanks to peeling off talent from nearby areas. Kids want to win and parents want them in a climate that is going to be successful. Danville has lost the plot and has to get it back. But what I think the biggest threat to Danville could be is DCA. They are slowly building up their athletic infrastructure and are reportedly looking into starting a football program. I'm not as certain that the city can support 2 good programs and the county definitely can't support 3.
