PER the news:  Former South Laurel and current Mercer County High School girls basketball coach Chris Souder was seriously injured in a tubing accident Tuesday while on vacation in Missouri, officials said.

Missouri State Police said in a report that the accident occurred at Lake of the Ozarks when an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon got too close to a dock, and struck the dock, ejecting two skiers Coach Souders and his wife from the tube. Coach Souder received serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. He sustained injuries to his hip and pelvic bone and will require surgery in Missouri before returning to Kentucky.

Here’s hoping he makes a complete and quick recovery. The guy seems like a nice person and is a great coach, as his resume proves. I met him once when he coached one summer with Kentucky Premier.
