Harvest Prep is the real deal. This is the type of team the Tomcats need on their schedule

Harvest prep has been handing Ironton and Wheelersburg their asses the last few years

This is a tough schedule for the putty tats

Especially since they are no longer in the same class together and while I agree Ashland has a good schedule…..Ashland and Belfry should go back to a yearly regularly scheduled game. No one would prepare Ashland better for their District matchup with Johnson Central better than a game with Belfry. Just my two cents

Harvest prep is tough. Really makes the schedule better. I would think their the toughest team on the schedule.

What's Ashland looking like this year compared to last season?

I'm not as close to the program as I have been in the past so I'm not the definitive "go to guy" but expectations are high and the general consensus of those close to the program is that they will be stronger than last year. This schedule should prepare them for the playoffs and I do believe they'll be in the running...but...4A is an animal. In my opinion it's Boyle and then a mix of a few top teams competing for second place. Ashland will hopefully be in that conversation. So there you have it, once again I've typed a lot and not said anything.

I believe they're having prayer for the young man right after school today at the Blazer track. Hoping and praying for good news.

I don’t know how true it is but I’ve heard his prognosis has improved a little after the procedure they did. I’m hoping and praying it is true. Such a tragic situation for such a talented young man. Take talent, ability, and everything out of the equation though. This is a KID so there’s a million thoughts and prayers coming his way from Ram land for sure!!

I go to Ashland’s soccer field/track complex frequently and I am always seeing their players either working on their routes or just conditioning in general. This Tomcats team will be really tough and I could see them finishing the season 8-2 or 9-1. As much as I hate to say it they will most likely open the season coming to Raceland and beating the Rams like a drum with a possible running clock.

I agree with you that Ashland is going to be tuff this year. Im not sure about all that Raceland getting half tracked but Ashland is on the rise.

Raceland lost a ton and will be finding an identity for the first half of the season while Ashland has a ton of experience.  I see that game going much like the game 2 years ago when Raceland beat up on a younger Tomcat squad but with the roles reversed this time.

What’s the latest on the tomcats? How are things looking this summer? New names to watch for?
#18
If what I’m hearing about the potential departure of Jennings is true they will have some major holes to fill. Between losing Houston to graduation, Thomas from a horrific accident last spring, and Jennings potentially moving to AZ they lose nearly 2800 yards of offensive production.

That would seriously hurt the Tomcats chances of any type of post season. I wish the best for Ashland but it looks like their season has gone from being potentially special to average at best.

Those are huge pieces to lose. Ashby will likely be the main RB if this is all the case. The cupboard won’t be bare, they return a lot upfront which will carry them early, but they will definhave their work cut out for them. Especially with the loss of Jennings being so close to start of camp. He was the only proven skill kid that they had returning.
