Owensboro Catholic 5 Corbin 4 9 Innings) (KHSAA Baseball Championship First Round)

Final. A heck of a game it is tough anyone had to lose this one. All 3 games today have been great!

Gotta be disappointed if you’re a Corbin fan.

This roster was set up to win. They had several good arms and good bats.

I would have liked to seen Gilbert and Helton on a team a little further south. Maybe mix in a Cima and that team may have won another title with the coaching at Goldbug.

On to next year. They have a good core coming back.

If that coach in Goldbug was working his magic on the beautiful banks of Bacon Creek the trajectory of the two programs would be off the charts different.  It took the Sup going way outside the box and bringing in a top Baseball mind to make that program relevant.  If that happened on the creek, the program would be expected to compete for state championships regularly instead of settling for first round exits when lucky enough to get there.

You do that.  Nothing wrong with clinging to that moment.
