I doubt it. Hard season for UK Basketball. Look forward to getting it over with to be honest. But things will get better again next season.

No. I don't have mcuh confidence in anything realted to UK basketball right now. It could be a long couple of seasons.

Now we know why Tubby left. He destroyed the Nations Premier program and had to get as far away as possible while he could.

I wish Coach G would just say in a news conference after every game why he dont play certain players. Like he was goofing off in practice or something, so we wont think he is a idiot and if the fans hate him then that means no money comes in to UK and he will be fired. It would just be alot better on him.

Hardly a chance. UK will be lucky to win 15 games this season.

I do not think so, it will be tough to have a winning record in the SEC (which is horrible this year). And Tubby didn't ruin anything, the players he has fit into his style and Billy G's style is different and he doesn't have the right pieces yet (I still don't like him but not all his fault). Tubby did get pretty good recruiting classes but they never developed at all i.e. Crawford, Bradley

I could understand if the question was will they make the NCAA tournament, but the NIT? Come on, people, they're not that bad. If UK finishes with a winning record, even if it's just 16-15, they will be eligible for the NIT. And if you think the NIT would turn down a chance to have a name school like Kentucky in their tournament, you're crazy.
I will agree that making the 'Big Dance' is getting more unlikely by the day, but I don't see UK finishing with a losing record, which is the only way they don't get invited to the NIT.

To tell you the truth. Even if we have the chance to go to the NIT I don't think we should accept the bid. I mean it is kind of like a disgrace to go to the NIT, yes you get to play more, but it says you are the best of the ones that do not belong in the REAL tourney. I would say just as a pride factor, reject the bid for the NIT. Memorial does not need any more NIT banners. The two we have are from when it actually mattered.

I was not even speaking that we would win the tourney. Did you just want to point something out about my post? I was making the point that a program like UK should not accept a bid to a "best of the rest" tourney. It is more degrading than it is helpful.

I disagree, I think UK should accept an NIT bid, if it came to that. Yes, it is demeaning, but the real insult is missing the NCAA in the first place. When you're the all-time winningest program, being left out of the real tournament is as bad as it gets, so competing in the NIT would not make it any worse.
Also consider that the team would get to play few extra games, and if they did win the tourney, it could help springboard them to bigger and better things next year.

I say No..I can't believe that we are saying UK isn't even good enough to make the NIT!!!

I can believe it, they are terrible, and its not Crawford and Bradleys fault. They are playing better than anyone else on the team with the exception of Patterson. If the coach would play some other players a little more maybe they could have the chance to develop and help out more, but he doesnt play anyone but Porter, Coury and Harris; players that dont deserve to be on the court. Quit blaming Tubby when its not his fault, he is gone now, which is what you fans wanted so dont put the blame on him. He is winning at a school with less talent right now. Which is more than coach billy g can say.

One positive I can take is that it may give us a couple more wins to keep UNC away from our total wins record.
I just don't think it would really effect the team in the end.
Season can go two ways, 1) we will continue to bump heads and blow games to the point that our players do not even want to try. 2) we will continue on with the season with a TEAM mindset and eventually start playing like a entirely different squad (possibly knock some teams off and gain confidence). Only then would the NIT benefit the team for next year.
