Putty tats roll.

Ashland puts this one away early to be able to rest the starters for the Johnson Central game in two weeks. The Tomcats are head and shoulders above any unit the County has with the exception of the punter.
#5
Word is, Strader is back at QB this week....so will be interesting to see how that plays out. Ashland has been rolling really well with Houston under center.
#6
First, concerning the thread topic;, I think this game will be closer than expected. This is Boyd County's "Super Bowl" while Ashland is hoping for bigger fish to fry. Boyd will hang around for a while.
Second, concerning the possibility of Strader coming back; after the first couple weeks without Strader Ashland did get stronger by having the ball in Houston's hands every play...but....I believe they can peak with Strader at QB if they find a way to get Houston more touches. He has to become a threat to run or catch the ball every play. If you move him back to a wideout and target him three or four times per game then you are not maximizing your potential and will become weaker offensively.

I believe Ashland rolls. The Boyd County defense is almost nonexistent. I do think Boyd County's offense shows up tonight, buti think it will look similar to the Bell County score. I'll say 63-35 Ashland. Just a guess though.
#8
Tomcats roll very impressive season so far
#9
Boyd leads 15-14 at the half. Boyd has done exactly what they needed to do to take Ashland out of their game in the first half. It will be interesting to see the adjustments that Ashland makes in the 2nd half.
#10
Strader entered the game with about 3 minutes left in the first half.
#11
Ashland outscored Boyd 29-0 in second half. Boyd had no answer for Strader.
#12
Even with the Ashland dominance throughout the years this is still a rivalry game. Boyd showed a lot of grit and determination and the coaches did a great job. Playing the run and matching up with a lot of man coverage worked....until Strader happened. In Houston's defense, after watching the game on Mytown this morning I don't remember him throwing a bad ball. A few potential TD passes were just dropped. His versatility is off the charts. Boyd has the potential to finish strong, I wouldn't be surprised to see them win at least two out of the next three.
