Rumor has it that the Black Bears will be allowed to play Cawood's schedule for 2008 and compete in 3A. :yikes:

Isn't that what Mercer County did last year? Took one of the school's 2A slot? If Harlan County is in 3A next year, that will make that by far the best region in 3A.

According to the KHSAA web site, Harlan CO High will be put into the appropriate class of 6A. Click on the above link and scroll to the last page and look under notes.

How was Mercer Co. allowed to do it but Harlan Co. cant play down.

I am not sure how Mercer pulled that off. They must have some major pull. BUt playing down is not an option in this new class system. You may choose to play up but you cannot play down. I took the virtual tour of the school and it is nice! One of the nicer schools I have ever seen with my own eyes. Here is the site to see the virtual tour: www.harlan.k12.ky.us/hchsani.html
