Where is SteadyRockin71? He had Dubbed this McCracken team as the best all around team McCracken has fielded in their existence. Really, struggled and got beat by a 3a school that was mostly one dimensional.

I agree on both counts.. PT has a ton of skill players and playmakers and they'll score a lot of points this year, but, they'll need to get better defensive play in the secondary and find some depth in the trenches.
McCracken has good line play and a # of skill kids that are capable of producing for them. They just need to find that right fit for all that talent and they, too, will have to get better on the defensive side of the ball.
By mid season, both these teams will be much better and a tough out.

Like I said good game, McCracken had the lead at half after being down 14-0. But the pick 6 killed the star of 2nd half but also they should have scored again before half but didn't handle the game well at that time. Once PT got the lead their runners ate the clock. The early on side kick was also a premature. Tilghman has lots of backs and their line is very good size really pushed the runners for xtra yards.

McCracken actually played better than I expected. Still are underachievers. PT may make a run this year.

Tilghmans d-line and linebackers played very soft. They are going to have to play better. The skill position players on offense ran very hard. The Ford kid is very tough.

I'm still here. Had to finish my crow from my prediction of the score. As for my view of the mustangs win or lose I stand by what I said. They didn't have to win to prove my point. Anyone at this game can tell you that these lineman this year are the anchor of the team. Their defense is their undoing. They say PT fell apart at the end. Well McCracken fell apart in the third qtr. Without the pick 6 they win this game. The speed of PT on the outside have McCracken fits all night. Great game by PT. McCracken was just out coached plain & simple. They've got the weapons to do some things this season. PT will finally get that district title this year & McCracken once they can get the defense in order they should be in a good position to win their district as well.
So I've eaten my crow. Let's move on.

Underachievers? We don't have a 1/3 of the athletes PTHS has on the field. We are a 6A school with 3 skills players and some decent sized linemen. Without Franklin Hayes, Elijah Wheat and Hunter Bradley we could lose to almost anyone in the region. Our defense probably has 1 maybe 2 kids that could even play for PTHS or Mayfield on defense side of the ball.
You think because we have numbers we should be good? You are insane ! Subdivisions don't GROW football players. Upwards "Most Christian" Awards don't help you tackle a 185 lbs 4.6 40yd dash kid when you get to high school. MCHS has no "Thug" Element and its killing us. The best MCHS team EVER had Pooh Jones. He was the best overall Mustang football player to ever suit up. Today's team is NOT even CLOSE !
The best coaches in Western Kentucky have taken the borderline kids and kept them out of trouble long enough to get an HS diploma. Haskins, Cox and the Morris Family have saved more lives than the local preachers and priest combined. If things don't somehow change, MCHS football is gonna get a lot WORSE before it gets better.

First thing MCHS should stop doing is making excuses. The Lone Oak teams prior to consolodation were better and had athletes. McCracken should not have lost to PT. Coaching is a big part of it. Go back and look at the teams that HAVE handled PT the last few years with half the resources and kids McCracken has had.

Some of the remarks surrounding The Paducah Tilghman vs McCracken County football rivalry are getting out of hand when you use terms such Thug Element. I am a ATHS graduate and now a McCracken County Fan. I love High School Football and what it does for the Athletes and their Communities.

PT looks like last year's team. Damien Ford is one of the elite RB's in the state but PT has a minimal passing threat; defensive holes and a marginal kicking game aside from PATs. PT's team speed and running will likely get them a return date with E-town.
The good teams will do as they did last year - stuff the box and dare PT to pass and wait until they force a punt.
McCracken will just have to improve, as they typically do after this game.
