Final.
What a game!
What a game!

I knew this would be a good one. I knew Point Pleasant was the real deal. Keep your heads up Panthers, you're going to be just fine.

Tough loss for Panthers.

Point Pleasant's QB was like a mini Nick Fitzgerald, The kid is a player. He didn't break many huge runs but was money at moving the chains with his feet and put the football right where he needed to on most throws.
I hope UK's Defense has better luck tomorrow night against the real Nick Fitzgerald.
Unless I'm mistaken Jackson Hensley didn't play in the 2nd half, hope he is ok because Pikeville will need him next Friday night.
Great game between 2 good evenly matched teams.
On a side note, Point Pleasant's facilities looked very nice from what can be seen on TV and WCHS does a great job with their game of the week.

.
Best wishes to the Hensley kid. Nice player.
Pikeville is now 0-2 against âevenly matched teamsâ.

Tough loss for my Panthers. That had a shot all the way until the end. Congrats to PP, they are good as advertised. Coach Mac can use these last 2 weeks to build and make these kids better.

I would say Belfry is a little better but I'll agree with ya lol.
You're right though, that is a trend that I hope does not go into late fall.

Congrats to PP. They are every bit as good as many say they are. Panthers came close, but no cigar. That one handed, over the head catch that Christian Billiter made was phenomenal ! I could name several players for the Panthers that did a great job tonight, but i'll just say there's only great things coming in their future. These last two games may have been losses, but consider it "cannon fodder", because they will be much better from it. Just hope Jackson Hensley is ok as he will be needed next week. This kid did a great job in the 1st half. Don't remember seeing him in the remainder of the game. Kudos to WCHS for the professional coverage of the game. Great job. Safe travels back for all Panther fans, team, and all involved.

They are 55. This is a solid 2-A WV team. Impressed by the way they're talented and disciplined .Panthers stayed right with the Big Blacks though, trading score for score, right down to the wire. Proud of them for that. They'll be better for it.

Donât think Jackson will be back for awhile, team doctor seems to think he broke his foot wonât no forsure until x-rays are done tomorrow. They played a very good game on offense tonight, great plays by a bunch of the Panthers, the one by Christian was great as Seth made a good one too but their were more. Defensively they have to get better. But as always GO PANTHERS!!!

I guess the comparison to the late 80's Pikeville teams was a bit premature. This team can still create a special place in Panther history for themselves, but they have work to do.
09-22-2018, 02:24 PM
Hate to hear that about Hensley, hopefully he's back sooner rather than later.
The 1 handed catch by Christian Billiter was one of the best catches I've ever seen at the high school level.

I said that in the preseason, people don't realize how good Pikeville was in 1988 and especially 1987. It's the last time a Class A school will be the best football team in the state, that will never happen again or will even come close.

Panthers need to win the district to stay away from Lynn Camp until Regional final.

Yes and the bad part is they went up and down the field all night on both teams and racked up huge yardage. But it's all about getting better for the postseason.

I normally don't Put much thought into these Discussion that take place on these Threads. Honestly Iâm Just a parent who religiously Logs in Hopes to see someone Mention My Sons Name. I know how excited I Get Iâm sure my Son Does the Same. Sometimes I play detective and Go through His Phone ( as Iâm sure many Parents Do). I see the countless Screen Shots When his name Or team is Mentioned. We As Fans Liberate these kids With our Encouragement. Even at Times Constructive Criticism can bring things to life and Spark the Drive in a players heart. However it Kills my soul When people Jump on the Band Wagon in June, July , and August while the wagon is still under construction. They stay on the Wagon then want to jump ship if a wheel gets Loose. This Panther wagon is constantly under construction and itâs constantly Moving. Parts will become weak , parts will break, at times parts will Fail. However as a Parent and Panther Fan I will Ride this Wagon till it Rolls into Kroger Field or Gets Put back in The Barn at Hambley !!!! We arm Chair quarter backs wear are thumbs out 365 days a year as these â Kids â put in the Work.
The last Two weeks These Panthers have played some Great Quality teams. They kept it close and had their Chances ( Last night down to the Last Snap ). Win or Loose these Kids Live and Breath Football. Regardless of how the season Plays Out one thing is for sure, One day this Year I will Watch My Son Take his Last Snap in A panther uniform. It will be just as painful as the Day I put him down not knowing Iâd never pick him up again. When that Day Comes if the Wagon is Still Rolling Iâll be on it. However if there comes a time and Every Wheel on it Falls off Iâll be the first to Jump Off.....Hopefully others will Jump off as Well, to help Pick these Panthers Up.

I agree very well said. I for one donât jump ship but I do put my thoughts in here. I guess probably like you I am old school, yes I do criticize not to be putting anyone down but to let these players know they can be better and have seen them do better. I hardly ever mention any names unless it has been mentioned before donât think it should be done because I believe itâs a team that wins not any one individual. I also watched my son take his last snap so many years ago and it was harder on me than taking mine last one it comes and goes to fast. I also believe that they could have won these last two games but they didnât and itâs over. I hope they learn from it and move on but it could bring them down. So I hope they pick themselves up as I know they will. Big game coming up so put in the work and get ready for the next one. As always GO PANTHERS!!!

^Has too be the toughest that district has been top to bottom in a while. That district was obviously tough when Middlesboro had very good teams and were Class A but it was top heavy then also.

The district is pretty solid and more balanced than usual, but I expect Pikeville and Hazard to play in the regional finals again.

Tough loss for the Panthers, but will help them in the long run.

Lynn Camp set up one of the weakest schedule ever so they could get that pretty record.
Pikeville will put a running clock on them if they meet.

Your Lynn Camp posts are comical. Pikeville would blow Lynn Camp off the field. Lynn Camp can't even beat Williamsburg.

Yes. Williamsburg is probably the best of the bunch.

Have to agree I also think they are the best but time will tell they all get to play shortly. By the way I am glad you got off that other thread before you got into trouble.
