Scrimmage: Ballard 19 Highlands 14
#1
Wasn’t there. Just what I was told. Highlands lost in the last minute. I heard 1 or 2 of their best players did not play and some saw limited playing time. Heard they played a lot of kids to get a good look. That was a good idea. Picked a good team to scrimmage. Why play Trinity or St X. They needed some confidence. From what I’ve seen Ballard isn’t even ranked in the top 10 preseason of 6A. So how good are they? The real good HHS teams could beat most 6A teams if you take Trinity, St X and probably Male out of the mix.

Ballard is #10 6A Lex Herald-Leader (I think)?!?!

They have talent for sure......Ballard vs Boyle Co next Sat. Can't wait!!

Highlands score on a reverse kickoff return. Usually teams don't return kickoffs in scrimmages.

Most 6A teams? They struggle against SK and Ryle.

Some people are putting Ballard in the top ten, usually at the ten spot, but they belong in the 11-15 part of 6A in my opinion. Ballard returns 16 starters and has some D1 athletes, but they have also had talent in the past and not utilized it properly, so I'm taking the buzz around them this season with a grain of salt.

They since 2015, but I doubt that what he meant by 'real good HHS teams'. Highlands didn't play either team in 2013 and 2014 and they only played Ryle consistently before 2013. Highlands typically won those games, but Ryle has improved as a program since then so it's hard to say how good Highlands teams would fare now.
