Can Clay County Finally Win The 13th Region?
#1
Is this the year Clay County can finally win a regional championship?
#2
I think they definitely have a shot. They have beat all the top teams in the region and are playing with a ton of confidence. Until someone knocks off North or South they will always be the favorites though.

They are the best team in the region but it comes down to doing it in the big moment. They should've won it last year and I believe beating North in District almost hurt them, if you get what I mean.

I'm rooting for everyone without "laurel" in their name.

Clay definitely has the best shot.

This is not a really good North team, at least by their standards. But they do play an excellent schedule, which I think is the one thing Clay still needs to do, beef up their schedule. Owens of Clay is the best pitcher in the region, South has the best offensive team, and Corbin is talented enough to be taken seriously. But I actually do think Clay is gonna break through this year.

This is their best shot to date. They have the best pitcher, who can be dominant. As several other posters have said, it’s being the best at the right time, which is the regional tournament, not the regular season or district tournament. Clay has 2 years where they’re going to be a favorite, primarily because of pitching. Can they pull it off? We will see. As far as North, they K too much. Way too many outs that opponents don’t have to make plays on, therefore lots less pressure on defenses.

North made a mistake by hiring a coach who wanted to showcase and do the most for her own kids and not the team. You don't drop 3 seniors to bring up 2 mediocre 7th graders and an 8th grader.
But now, right before district play, North fired their coach. Good luck to the other teams. This is the year.

Clay needs another pitcher other than Owens. The poor girl is going to wear her arm out. Their defense is pretty good so I'd try to save her a little bit

Lynn Camp scores a lot of runs, are they pretty good or just played an easy schedule???
#10
No offense to Lynn Camp, but no they aren't very good, no one in the 51st district will win a game in the region. And the 52nd looks to be down this year as well, Harlan Co. has actually been pretty disappointing. In the region you will have Clay and North and (probably) Corbin and South. Each of those teams will go into opposite brackets, meaning everyone will be faced with getting two good wins to win the region, which is at North this year by the way. Clay and North basically have byes to the region, but the 50th district could be very interesting. Corbin will play Williamsburg, and with Tye on the mound the Jackets have a shot, they beat Corbin in district play two years ago with her throwing. And the South/Whitley game is beginning to look like a coin flip, Whitley is playing better and better and South has tailed off some. Plus that district is at Whitley.
