St. X Job
#1
Any word on the St.X job?
Interviews? Who’s a candidate?
#2
Unless they are wanting to stay in-house, I can't believe they wouldn't be knocking down Coach Scroggins door. He would be my one and only choice

Apparently St. Xavier is down to five candidates including current assistants Bart Bruner & Todd Walsh. Kevin Wallace (BGHS) is also among the final five. The committee is made up of school President, AD, and two "prominent" Alumni. Final decision is due by mid-February.

Choose wisely!

Kevin Wallace would be a great hire as well.

Scroggins would be a great hire

Honestly....nothing against other applicants.....I would make Scroggins tell me NO 10 times before I I considered any other candidates. He’s that good.

So...

Wallace

I disagree. If he don’t want to apply then you dont need that. Plus his son would have to sit out. Who knows?

Scroggins is not a candidate. He wanted to be "called" and never applied.

Well...that's too bad. Not sure if there's something behind or not....but....If I was on the hiring committee....he would have gotten called. Like it or not....some of the best coaches like to be wooed. I've been on a few of these "committees"....so I know from experience. You may not like it....but you try to do what's best for the program.

Again....nothing against any other candidates. St X is a great program....I'm sure they'll be fine.

Per St. Xavier staffer, announcement coming on Friday February 16. Interviews completed.

Per the Courier Journal's Jason Frakes, it's Kevin Wallace from Bowling Green.

Big hire, and big purple shoes to fill.

Now Wallace must play Trinity!!!!! :flame:

Confirmed by nice article online at the Bowling Green Daily News!!!!!

I'm looking forward to next September. Wallace will light a fire in the belly of those Tigers. A tight, hard-fought game will put some spark back into the rivalry.

Coach Wallace was used to having many superb athletes on his roster. He cannot transport his talented student-athletes to Louisville. It will be interesting to see if St. Xavier adjusts their admission standards. The Xaverian mission statement is not the same as their Catholic school counterparts in Jefferson County. :dontthink
